  1. Yes, that is the crystal you did.
  2. On his Kitchen Chemistry program, he appears to be wearing a white-dial SOSF on a black leather strap like this: I'll get a screen cap later.
  3. The construction is so unique, you can't use off-the-shelf parts to replicate them.
  4. Of all the photoshopping in this photo, the AR colour is exactly as it came off the camera. Using a plastic bin lightbox and a single source of light, I was able to capture the tint. Click for a 1280px version. Please post comments ...
  5. None of these issues showed up in mine, otherwise they would have been reflected in my review. Oh, apart from the useless lume.
  6. Here are the two watches I sent off after the review. Watch this space for the next batch.
  7. If I bought a $50k watch, it would depend what I bought it for as to whether or not I wear it. If I bought it as an investment, I would not wear it. Why? Well, I would invest in a watch because it would be an investment related to one of my hobbies. Some people invest in shares, I'd rather invest in shares related to my hobbies or in items related to my hobbies. For instance, I'd buy Ducati shares, even if shares in construction would be wiser. I'd buy Apple shares, even if Dell looked like the smarter bet. I'd buy a vintage Rolex, even if a first edition Dickens would make me a few quid more. However, the ideal would be that I would have enough disposable income that I could buy a $50k watch to wear. If it were not something so important that my damaging it could remove a unique piece from the hobby, I'd wear it to destruction, if needed. Much like I would ride a rare Ducati on the roads, unless it was irreplaceable like one of Fogarty's championship winning pieces. On the other hand, a Frankenwatch should be worn. This is why I don't get kasillion dollar reps, because I want to wear something I'd wear in gen if I could afford it. I'll wear a Fiddy or a 1665 (white) because I know I'd wear a gen if I owned it. Oh, but if I did own a $50k investment watch, it'd make the occasional sortie for a fancy dinner. It'd be impossible not to take it out every so often.
  8. If it's an ETA, guaranteed, I will take as many as you have for $400 a piece. However, I can ask you to do one test to check it's really an ETA 7753. Can you pull out the grown one stop and turn it? If the date changes, it's not an ETA.
  9. There's no Hamilton or Larkhall, either. The photographer went to take the photies and a gaggle of wee neds nicked his camera and pawned it for buckie. "Haw, Mister, gees yer juju box, or I'll chib ye, nat, no. Aw, man, it's Buckie-o-clock!" Larkhall: The only place the local Subway franchise is allowed to not use green. The only place where traffic lights go red-amber-broken. The only place you don't need to make stuff up about as they really are that insane.
  10. Gio, now your excellent post is securely pinned, I was wondering why you don't use jeweller's files. Do you find sandpaper easier?
  11. If Silix can sell ETA-powered Datejusts for $125, how much were you expecting them to be?
  12. The Lume would be a beacon. Making a stealth watch glow in the dark would not be wise.
  13. ETA movement? I don't think so. With your username and comments, it makes me think you're trying to sell something. You're not secretly PMing people with where to buy this watch, are you?
  14. "Balls the size of church bells. This is his world; we just live in it."
  15. Do you have a picture (the right size) you want to use? Just put it in here: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?act=UserCP&CODE=24
  16. How ... seizieme of you. How much style would you have if your bezel insert fell out due to cheap glue or if your watch misted up?
  17. One word of advice: DO NOT wear replicas in the sauna. In fact, do not wear any metal watches in the sauna. Water-resistant watches are designed to remain water-resistant underwater, not in hot steam. Metal expands, seals open, steam gets in. Me? I'd wear something plastic and comfortable. Think practicality, not style.
  18. Nice grey! I do like the effect. It's very stealth.
  19. My 187 also changed a decent-enough rep into a wear-anytime watch. There's an aura of genuinosity added by AR.
  20. If I didn't already have 2 noobs, I'd be all over this. This is an amazing offer.
