  1. Nice find. The guy obviously visits one of these forums.
  2. How did you break that? Here's the usual advice you'll find: Does it matter which direction you turn the crown when you're setting a watch? On most mechanical watches it doesn't. On some, particularly those equipped with calendars, you should only move the hands clockwise. The manufacturer's instructions will include directions for setting. On quartz watches, it's OK to move the hands in either direction to set them. Manufacturers point out, though, that you can eliminate the free play in minutes hand by setting it in the following way (a quartz watch, unlike a mechanical one, tends to have play in its minutes hands due to the lack of tension in the gear train): Move the minutes hand clockwise until it is a few minutes past where it is supposed to be, then move it counterclockwise back to the correct spot.

Hey, if you get tired of it, I'll trade it for any two reps in my collection.

The light and flimsy bracelet of both the Rolex sub and several Seiko sports watches are amongst the most comfortable of the steel bracelets. The comfort of the Rolex bracelet is due to the good design and lightness of the parts. Also, the fine-tuning on the clasp means you're not stuck with it being too tight or too loose. The good replica Subs are very good at replicating the feel of the bracelet, leading to a few people complaining unduly.

You know what that cheap feeling bracelet equates to? Comfort.
  6. You can set the hands any way you want. In fact, going anti-clockwise is silly on watches with dates. The only time you should always go anti-clockwise is on a 7750 (ETA or Asian) when you're setting the minute hand accurately. Go clockwise until you pass the correct time and then reverse to the exact minute.
  7. No, merely 1,321 including this one.
  8. I've opened a Steelfish with the one on the left, carefully:
  9. Perfect apart from the fact the dial is off-axis?
  10. A popular piece is made in quantities of well over 500.
  11. For me, the differences are geographical; Chiefy is in the US and Jakub is in the EU. Quality-wise, both get glowing reports, with neither ever having a bad thing said against them. We're lucky to have two AR sources and even luckier to have one on each of the two major continents.
  12. Don't expect them to share the info. We've never been able to get sales numbers.
  13. If my pal By-Tor is wearing a Rolex, maybe I should wear one too ... This maybe? ngggggg... must ... fight ... Damn, I'm still on this one.
  14. I won the Spanish lottery recently. It's amazing they had my email address!
  15. I am not a fan of the HBB design. Why would I spend a fortune on a replica of a watch I actively dislike? Besides, this is Pugwash's replica of the year, not RWG's replica of the year.
  16. You may not have noticed the original poster was from Yorkshire.
  17. I believe oil breakdown is a huge factor and it's not based on use, just time. Yes, friction will wear down, but not in 5-10 years. Where is The Zigmeister when we need him?
