  1. ... and this is still my first major watch mod undertaking. I hope I can get better ...
  2. TBC was good, back then, if you were of that age. Today, it stands up as an old movie about a different generation you don't understand. Oh, and it has that most detestable of stereotypes - the fake alternative girl that gets a makeover. good god, what saccharine are they serving in Hollywood that makes all film makers want to use fake goths or fake punks that wannabe secretly normal? And on top of that, you just know everything will go back to normal on Monday. And another thing, why do teenagers in John Hughes movies all have classic cars? Even the poor ones. If you're Molly Ringworm from the wrong side of the tracks, you get a cool classic VW. Damned rich poor kids... And yet another thing ... when next watching a John Hughes movie, look for the kid in the hat. There's always one. It's as if he wanted kids to start wearing hats. ps. But yeah, I love John Hughes movies too. Save Ferris.
  3. Today, it's back to the 3717.
  4. If you're incontinent enough to pull off the Yachtmaster, go for it. However, if they're all your own teeth, the PO is by far the better choice.
  5. So far, this 1680 has ... gen crown and tube, gen crystal, gen pearl, pugged crown guards and ... as of this morning, an ETA 2846 low-beat movement. Still to go, some form of datewheel and drilling the lugs to fit genuine spring bars. Comments, as always, appreciated. click for 1600x1200 version
  6. Worked for me.
  7. Looks good. I'll need some time to get used to the new format, but the wider galleys mean I'll be upping my picture size to 800px wide.
  8. Not true. It was fitted with a Seagull copy. I believe that it was also available with an ETA2824, however.
  9. Let's agree to disagree.
  10. For me that lust is called Aquatimer Chrono. Oh, and 3717 vs SFSO? Here's my solution:
  11. Ah, you've not seen it then.
  12. I'm still going to say "Go Swiss" on this one. The AR is what makes this one.
  13. Today, it's this one. Gen crystal, gen crown/tube, Pugged CGs, etc. New wrist shot:
  14. So the crystal fits? The gen movement is based on a 2892, so you're maybe looking for datewheels for that model.
  15. Please stop posting here.
  16. London is like that though. You want the work, you pay the price. The salaries there are about high enough to cover the prices.
  17. ... and now it's the 3rd, here's the watch I'll be wearing today. New wrist shot:
  18. Yup, a Secondes-Mortes complication.
  19. Today, it's this one: As seen at the Louvre
  20. Fans of Onegai Teacher will appreciate this thread.
  21. How shocking, we share the same favourite Daytona.
  22. The wear looks a little too machined and even in places. Have you considered scrunching it in a bag of rough sand? Still, I love the idea and will be following it eagerly. Be careful when you do a 1665/1680 as the acrylic is very easy to make unusable.
