  1. If he said NEVER turn it backwards, he was wrong, yes. However, if he was saying don't turn backwards past midnight, he was right. Like I said, turn forwards until you go a couple of minutes past the actual time and take up the slack backwards.
  2. If a replica isn't available new and you want it, you should expect to pay over retail, I'm afraid. Like my Speedmaster, I'd never sell that for retail as if I ever wanted a replacement, I would be fighting with other people for one, and supply and demand will always effect prices. If you don't like prices, don't pay them. However, if someone is selling second-hand for more than it costs new on an in-stock and readily available watch, that's scamming, unless they're adding value in some other way.
  3. Last time we didn't have silence, with the big bang, we whipped ourselves into a silly frenzy, so a little silence isn't always a bad thing.
  4. The Big Pilot is apparently also being released, but no timeframe has been given.
  5. It's just breaking.
  6. Oh, and he mentioned the Big Pilot, too, but gave no more info. http://replica-watch.info/forum/viewtopic.php?p=241119
  7. Angus (Puretime) has just said that the Aquatimer Chrono is on its way and should be out in 1-2 weeks!
  8. The loose minute hand while setting isn't a problem, to be honest. All you need to remember is that you fine-set the hands on a 7750 backwards whereas it's forwards on a 2836. To clarify, I mean you advance the hands forwards a few minutes past the current time and take up the slack backwards. This will allow you to get a dead-on-balls-accurate setting. If you don't do this, your minute hand will be slightly off.
  9. I used a spike to remove the bracelet. Compress the springbar one side, wiggle the endlink, compress the other side, wiggle more ... pop!
  10. You say behaviour, others say state. You're saying there's a choice involved, others say there isn't. Bigotry is not entertaining the possibility that it might be biological, because you know best.
  11. Pride isn't about celebrating gayness. It's about celebrating the fact one can be openly gay. It's a "look how far we've come" statement. I doubt, however, pride festivals happen that far away from major urban centres, proving that we haven't in fact advanced that far.
  12. Allegedly. Everyone will usually answer that their special forces is the best, for some reason. The truth is probably down to opportunity and the limits of the human body.
  13. They don't see much action though, so their quality is theoretical.
  14. Wholesome.
  15. ...because this one is too expensive:
  16. General consensus on this sort of discussion usually ends with Israel and the UK vying for top slot with the US in third.
  17. Sorry, but I'm still being very boring. This hasn't left my wrist for a week.
  18. Nicht zehr gut. Ja?
  19. She sure looks familiar ...
  20. I'm a heterosexual in the UK and I'd heard of it. ps. I don't like the direction this thread is going. We've got gay members here that are feeling as ostracised as the women on RWI.
  21. Oh, like Ubi said, the 3717 is a great choice. Mine has been my only watch worn since last Monday. The only waking hours I spent with it off were those when it was in surgery for a wheel-job.
  22. He's the mayor of SF. I presume "Pride" is the gay pride marches.
