  1. Yeah, hence the low mileage. It's just had a chunk of the wiring loom replaced to give it reliable electrics.
  2. A 1997 Ducati 748, bought in 1998, with only 3500 miles on the clock as it was in storage while I was in Paris, then rebuilt by my local Ducati garage.
  3. This old thing (new to me, probably eight years old) I got from my brother. Old school seconds at six that doesn't run unless the chromo is pressed.
  4. Ok, here's a pic of my Ducati, as requested.
  5. That'd be a Tianjin Seagull automatic movement.
  6. Like the title says … Yeah, it's been a while. I'm out of touch.
  7. Well, as I'm here, what new reps should I care about? If you want pics and reviews, I need to get a new rep.
  8. A couple of examples of my photos from 2012 World Superbikes: So, yeah, I still take pictures.
  9. I didn't get bored of watches as much as I no longer had the time to devote to as many hobbies as I'd have liked. Today, I'm wearing my modded MBW 1665, for instance. And yes, one of my many jobs is as a MotoGP/World Superbikes photographer and I am the World Superbike correspondent for a popular website. Getting my Ducati back on the road was one of the hobbies that caused me to cut back on the amount of forum time I had, plus my tiny RPG publishing business woke up and I went totally freelance on the Sysadmin side and just watched my free time disappear. So, who has the best sub these days?
  10. No, it's our system functioning perfectly. Remember, we're the criminals here; we're evading tax and duty and we're importing counterfeit goods. The first step is to admit what we're doing is not legal and above board. This helps us deal with the logistics of the hobby so much better.
  11. Where can get the exact same one? It's the perfect design.
  12. I've been avoiding one of these for years. How much longer can I hold out? Has anyone written a guide to replica PNs for Daytona n00bs like me? I have no idea where to start.
  13. Being raped isn't part of the state imposed sentence. Sorry, I don't find that sort of comment civilised in any way. You seriously want convicted prisoners to be part of he justice system?!? You condone rape as a form of justice? Nope, not in my name, not in the name of justice. Sheesh, I know watch forums tend towards the right-wing blood and glory, but what you're wishing for is a penal system that allows prisoners to forcibly rape other prisoners. Can the guards take part? How about members of the public? Hey, how about turning womens' prisons into revenue makers and pimp out the ones that hit their kids? Hey, if you can't do the time, don't do the crime.
  14. "Late in the morning of the Tuesday that changed everything, Lt. Heather “Lucky” Penney was on a runway at Andrews Air Force Base and ready to fly. She had her hand on the throttle of an F-16 and she had her orders: Bring down United Airlines Flight 93. The day’s fourth hijacked airliner seemed to be hurtling toward Washington. Penney, one of the first two combat pilots in the air that morning, was told to stop it. "The one thing she didn’t have as she roared into the crystalline sky was live ammunition. Or missiles. Or anything at all to throw at a hostile aircraft. "Except her own plane. So that was the plan." http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/f-16-pilot-was-ready-to-give-her-life-on-sept-11/2011/09/06/gIQAMpcODK_story.html?sub=AR
  15. Yes, apart from the 42mm PO I have (2892 as well) has a plastic spacer.
  16. Because I could? Ok, the 2824 in it had issues and rather than replace it, I used a spare 2892 movement. The 2892, as we all know, is a better movement than the 2824 and is the same as the Omega 2500, apart from the coaxial escapement. In other words, it sounds the same as a gen when you swirl it in your hand and it feels like one when you wind it. But, like I said, I mostly did it because I could.
  17. Why yes, you can! Now, the front isn't very pretty because the hour and minute wheels are a little low and that means bending the hands up, but I've got longer wheels on order and will show you the finished product when it's done.
  18. Yeah, because prison rape is justice. Nice one.
  19. It's debatable whether it was the Speedmaster or the Rolex GMT that saved Apollo 13.
