  1. Agreed. My wrist is the same size and I can wear anything less than Bentleys. I could possibly even wear a Bentley, but I'd rather not.
  2. I'm neither on holiday or off to the boards, but same watch!
  3. Gold and bling. Not for me. If you have to add precious stones to it to make it look expensive, count me out. Oh, a meteorite dial doesn't count. I'd like one of those. And I have some Trinitite that'd look good on a titanium watch, but that's about it.
  4. Speedmaster? Quartz? AR? I think I just threw up a little in my mouth.
  5. I'd not like a Stingray strap as I love the little blighters. Bless. Look at the wee chap!
  6. If you want a replica pen, get a rollerball that can take genuine cartridges. That way, you can make it write exactly like the gen by going to a stationers.
  7. Oh, I have one of those. I'll test it myself and report back.
  8. Nice clamping. Shouldn't you have put some paper on the vise though? That metal-on-metal makes me nervous. It's great to see others doing this. It's an easy and worthwhile mod, especially as the UPO tube shears easily. To remove the tube, I've tried pliers and all sorts and the only thing that's worked for me was a rat-tail file. Using paper on a clamp:
  9. Calibrated monitor (Gamma 1.8, though, not 2.2) and it looks close. Close enough for most of us anyway.
  10. Great pics. I presume it's faux chronos.
  11. Loctite in the UK is best known for "Loctite Superglue 3" "Loctite is a brand of adhesives, which includes acrylics, anaerobics, cyanoacrylates, epoxies, hot melts, silicones, urethanes and UV/light curing adhesives." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loctite
  12. On one monitor here, it's too yellow. On another it's too washed out. I'll check it tomorrow on my calibrated monitor at work and give you a third opinion. Don't you have access to Pantone cards?
  13. It's a little late, but never, ever, ever use Cyanoacrylate glues near watch parts. Ever seen CSI where they use superglue to pick up fingerprint grease with the fumes? Well, inside your watch is full of little pockets of grease that superglue fumes love to stick to. Fumes on the inside of a crystal will fog it up, too. However, if you get superglue on anything, Acetone is the way to remove it. This may lift paints (like on dials or hands) but it's sometimes your only choice.
  14. What colour balance settings are you using? Is your monitor calibrated? What white-balance was used? What colorsync settings are you using? If you want to colour match anything, you'll need to use a reference colour, like a Pantone colour. You can't do it across the internet like this, I'm afraid. Just looking at the three different greens in your three photos demonstrates this ain't going to be easy.
  15. Yeah, but it's not animated like mine, I bet.
  16. Not going to happen. There's no cheap handwind chrono they can use instead of the ST19.
  17. Not in the photos provided. One of the reasons I didn't keep hold of my Navi was that I ended up using the slide rule (converting currency) and the inaccuracy started being a liability. I hope they get it sorted on all the models so I can get myself a classic white one again.
  18. ... apart from the mismatch in the slide-rule, you mean.
  19. No. There are no over-sized single-button chrono cases that fit the bill.
  20. Still wearing this one, which looks like being an ideal work watch (date and a 24-hour hand)
  21. Shame. Still, it's proof of the old adage; you snooze, you lose.
  22. You'd need a special case and a special dial. Oh, and special hands. No crown guard, either. Still, it'd be worth it, because that movement is beautiful. It'd make a great seconds-at-nine dual register chrono.
  23. This was what TTK did. I miss the guy, but he wasn't kind to me at the end. Here are his last words to me: "As for being a friend....get over yourself....numpty.....and don't reference me in future...make comments about my photos or anything else regarding me....otherwise I'll really roast your [censored] on the forums...!" I still wish him well, though.
  24. It's big, it's a 7750, it's white-dialled. What's not to like?
