  1. I use a hammer and pin: I broke my vise-like pin-removing tool on a UPO bracelet. It's not at all easy.
  2. C'est fait par logiciel. It's done in software. Sometimes, people censor themselves, though.
  3. That's precisely it. Nice pics!
  4. I recently got one of these and have been trying to work out the aesthetic. There's something quite nice about the ratio of the bezel width to the dial and then it struck me. It's this picture. The watch in this picture has the same feel as the GMT IIc. I don't know if it's deliberate, but for a company like Rolex that's not afraid to mine its heritage for ideas, I'd not be surprised.
  5. If you like 'em wide, there's always the Speedmaster Reduced Automatic.
  6. Coo. Will they make a hand-wind, closed-caseback Lemania-spaced version or are you talking about a Speedmaster Date? I'll get new chips, there are plenty of chippies round here.
  7. No they're not. gen hands fitted to my UPO on right, rep on my 4PO on left
  8. Oil Paint would be a bad idea. It takes 6 months to dry.
  9. Here's a photo from Nanuq's secret Fritzlroom:
  10. I fixed it by replacing the autowind section. Dead easy. Phew!
  11. Ah, there is an arcane method that is known to the mystics. It's called "asking".

  13. It's the same on mine. If it's too short, just put a big blob of glue on the top of the stem and flood the base of the crown thread with it.
  14. Look at the case construction. Look closely at the lugs.
  15. Probably, but the point of Breitlings is not to wear small. I'd say get an over-sized one and wear it big. Nut up, as they say.
  16. I take it back. I especially like the tape under the crystal. Superb job. Do you also find the crown is a little stiffer now?
  17. I seem to remember hearing that this is a symptom of some sort. I have an ETA2824 that when wound past a certain amount spins the autowinder's weight around, reducing the power reserve to a matter of a few hours. Does anyone know off the top of their head if this is an easy fix? I have no problem diving a certain distance into the back of an ETA as long as I don't have to get to the main spring or the drive train after the escapement. I know my limits. And yes, if I keep on going like this, there will come a point where I can completely strip a 28xx, but that day is not today.
