  1. I'll be honest, it was a gift from a friend. I don't know if I should tell everyone who he is in case he gets inundated with requests for them. I don't know where to buy them, but if anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears as my 1665 needs one too.
  2. As an aside, the genuine HBB doesn't use a 7753. As unusual as it sounds, they've gone for a Hublot-modified 7750, much like the Tri-Compax Asian 7750. So, if you were to fit a 7753 in this watch, it wouldn't make it any closer to genuine.
  3. If you have a dial for one of these, sell it and get a gen Sub.
  4. As posted on RWI ... This is an MBW 1680: The bezel construction is like the original 1680 with a compression ring that holds the crystal in: The Compression Ring is visible at the back, under the packaged crystal. Note the groove for the rubber o-ring. My watch didn't come with an o-ring, but it still had the groove. I fitted an o-ring for waterproofing and accuracy. If your watch has a spring holding the bezel in, like it appears to have, it's not the good kind of vintage 1680 rep.
  5. She also gets her return address wrong sometimes. I believe she can drop-ship or check your watches, depending on your patience.

  7. Josh drop-ships a large amount of his orders, but on newer stuff or fast moving items, he'll get the first few in stock personally.
  8. Not so. Are you aware that you can pre-buy tracking numbers? This means that you can have a tracking number before you've even put the watch in a bag. A fast reply with a tracking number can mean a drop-shipper or someone with a large stock ...
  9. I'd advise anyone from buying outside their native country. You will get stiffed a lot on import duty. Oh, and any warranties will probably not be valid (and your household insurance may use it to wiggle out of any accidents it's covered for, too) and you really want a warranty on a laptop as when they go wrong, they go wrong expensively. I buy Apple myself. The new MacBooks are amazing for the price and you can run MacOSX or Windows or even both. If Apple are outside your budget, I'd steer clear of Vista, which means if you're buying a laptop with OEM Windows, you want a Dell loaded with XP. It's really that simple.
  10. Don't hassle the Hoff.
  11. I'd say that no reps would pass the inspection of a suspicious knowledgeable person. If you're in there paying for a Rolex Daytona, you could have on a Noobmariner and they'd never even suspect it. Oh, and people vastly overestimate the possibility that the person in front of them is knowledgeable. Most AD salesmen wouldn't know a 111h from a 183g.
  12. The best watch-spotting TV show out there.
  13. That depends on what country you're in. You may, however, be laughed at or asked to leave in any country, but they'll most likely pretend not to notice in the hope of a sale. Most ADs, however, are simply not as good as us at spotting this kind of thing.
  14. Ouais, il va falloir attendre, mon pote. C'est toujours le cas. Oui, il faut faire gaffe; je suis bilangue aussi. Suis-je ton cauchemar ultime? Ok, I think I've made my point. I'm done.
  15. It's still here, apart from people can't hear it over the noise of you making a fool of yourself.
  16. I use the format that has capitalisation, punctuation and correct spelling. ps. Why would I use American technical styles when I'm British and the majority of my published work is fiction?
  17. I've got my 1665 (gen pearl and crystal) on right now. It's lovely.
  18. About a quarter to three.
  19. Excellent review, thanks!
  20. Usually, there's no difference, although Paul had a rotten batch a year or so ago, if I'm not mistaken. You should be ok though.
  21. Possibly the best movement widely used in reps.
  22. This guy goes to the wrist ...
