  1. I think SuperRep means 1:1 case and the same AR as the gen. The UPO was, I believe, the first of these, but it may have been the Link Chrono. I'm trying to work out what I've bought recently that's not gen, SuperRep or MBW ... and I can't think of anything.
  2. Today, tuesday, I've decided to wear the fugly 187. Here's a shot of me in Paris, even though I'm not there any more.
  3. I've not opened my Steelfish, what with its being superduperproof up to a light year under lava or something, but if I were to do so, it would be with a specific tool as the caseback isn't ideal for generics.
  4. And we would have let it happen.
  5. This is normal when following links here from Google.
  6. I've said it before and I'll say it again. We need this one before I buckle under and buy the genuine version:
  7. ...and while credibility took a hit, people weren't that interested in doing anything about it so we'll be heading for another tragedy soon.
  8. You may not need a caseback opener to open the steelfish, but you will need one to close it.
  9. Get watch serviced, wait five years, repeat.
  10. Looking good, mate. Good luck on finding the hands/insert. I'll be watching this one.
  11. Oh, pics of Steelfishes?
  12. Sunny pics out there. It's miserable weather here.
  13. Looking good. This watch suits leather better than it does steel. Your croc is definitely interesting.
  14. I didn't discover it, I merely publicised it.
  15. I want an IWC Aquatimer Chrono. That would be the ideal option. I'd also like a gen vintage Sub/SD, but I'm happy with MBW vintages for now. Sure, there are piles of other gens I'd like, but being realistic, I need to get an IWC first. Oh, and a Daytona.
  16. TTK's descriptions are 100% accurate. Andrew's are not so much.
  17. Is this Maria's latest project? That typeface sure looks familiar. ps. I love how you can't vote "Yes" in the poll.
  18. The problem with this is that you have no way of knowing the work has been done. I'm not suggesting our dealers would lie (well, maybe not about this) this time, but their suppliers certainly would. Anyone ever having dealt with Chinese labour will tell you that the only way to get quality control and promised work is by having a representative in the Far East watching their every move. It's the big dilemma in outsourcing companies right now: Sure the labour is cheaper, but you need a western rep there 24/7 watching over them, and this wasn't budgeted in their great cost-cutting outsourcing plans. Instead of extra servicing, how about a simple one year warranty? Would you believe it?
  19. I'm considering a major cull of my collection to fund the purchase of a genuine. The reason I've not done this yet is because I can't decide what Gen to get.
  20. Uh-oh. You're going to make me buy another watch ...
  21. Google Maps says it should take 44 hours.
  22. Excellent work as usual, The Zigmeister.
  23. I love how people can turn this into an anti-Bush rant.
  24. Where are you getting the hands?
  25. The trouble with working/dossing from home is that you get to change watches during the day. I've done just that:
