  1. No. You're in luck
  2. If you're going genuine-style movement, you need a Valjoux movement for the PN Daytona. V23 or v72 if my memory serves me right.
  3. You missed me selling three yesterday. If you can wait, I may be selling a fully modded MBW in a month if I need to pay my mortgage.
  4. Rumours? You mean FlipLock's trolling?
  5. Check with Precious Time first. He'll have stuff in the UK, with no fear of customs.
  6. ... but they really work well if you put the effort in. This is my 'MBW' 1665 Seadweller: I've not done much to it apart from a genuine pearl, but I've got a genuine crystal and other parts to fit as soon as my 1680 Submariner project is finished. If you're patient, I could sell it to you once its finished and I'lls tart a new one for myself.
  7. Precious Time, Narikaa or TTK if he's got it in UK stock. It really depends on what you're looking for, but if either of those three has it in stock, you get it very quickly (next day?) and with no fear of customs.
  8. They have. See The Zigmeister's review of it ... Coupled with the Valgranges copy in TTK's Chopard GTXL, we're in for a great run of Chinese movements, I reckon. The reason they didn't show up before is that everyone wanted ETAs in quantity. Now that option is disappearing, the good clones are getting ramped up, possibly even from the same assembly lines ebauching the 2836/24 today.
  9. Nice. Have you got the rest of the Ubi-recommended list on order yet, you lucky bleeder? I'm anticipating wooden-surface photos very soon!
  10. Google is your friend: http://www.facetingmachines.com/polishing_glass.shtml and http://www.watchpolishing.com/polishingglass.htm say the same thing.
  11. Today it's the 1665. Tomorrow, it'll hopefully be a two-watch-day. More on that later ...
  12. If I'm being compared with a genuine and coming out ok, then I must be doing something right. Thanks for the fun, Kurt.
  13. I suspect that this is a result of the recent ETA shortage. Sure, we could have been getting movements before, but I think we'd have noticed. The shortage isn't artificial and it's not going away, so I suspect this will happen more and more. It's up to our dealers to deal with this and it's amusing that it may be safer to buy the new breed of Asian 21j copy movements.
  14. They looked like young Chinese women as opposed to kids.
  15. This wouldn't have been visible with a caseback tool. I get the impression that it was only once The Zigmeister opened the barrel that it was obvious this was a PoS movement.
  16. That's what happens when you copy the text and not the link. This is the link you're after: http://culture.hautehorlogerie.org/en/haut...iting-1832.html
  17. The Dremel should be used only for polishing or removing large masses of metal at the beginning as the rest you really want to be doing with a jeweller's file. Having said that, I used a spinny rough blob (to use its technical name) to ease out the countersinking as my drill bits weren't making a dent in the super-tough steel. It's fun and very good at making you sweat. Oh, and a little table vice should be in everyone's watchmaking kit. It even doubles as a mini-anvil.
  18. It looks cheap, but the funny thing is that the subdials are pointing all over the place and the pushers are screwed in. While this isn't a tell, it's suspect. I'm not going to outright call the guy on it though, as it could just be a lousy pic.
  19. The only way to find out is to get it tested once you've bought it, or pay Trusty's $50 extra for a guarantee.
  20. Those two photos have been posted here before. At least twice.
  21. Well, it's fairly certain I'll be offering it, but obviously only in the EU. I'll need to sort out what liability I can stand to take as it's not my actual business so I'll not have insurance or anything like that. I doubt broken crystals are likely, though.
  22. I'll be in the UK at the end of the month. I will consider offering this service to cover the cost of my own crystals. No PMs on it yet though, please.
  23. Have you also considered a polarising filter? They're excellent for reducing reflections on crystals.
  24. TTK doesn't have a website. TTK isn't Trusty/TTWristwatch.
