  1. You don't think they care what we think? You don't think we matter to them? I disagree, and more importantly, I think they disagree too.
  2. There are a few add-on modules to make non-chronos into chronos, the Dubois-Depraz ones being the best-known.
  3. ... just as we had almost convinved the seller not to part with this gem. Congrats, it's a winner.
  4. I wouldn't hold your breath if I were you.
  5. Silix over on RWI (he can't connect here for some reason) posted the following in a thread on his 45mm PO:
  6. Fash?
  7. Damn, I really have no life. 5000 posts later and I've not said that much, so here's to the next 5000.
  8. That's the standard replica version. I feel sorry for the poor sucker that gets scammed. This is what a gen dial should look like: (Yes, this is my FrankenGST) And getting the paperwork/box isn't hard:
  9. Amazingly bad interpretation.
  10. Um ... maybe it's Sherrington selling it on eBay.
  11. I've been thinking of doing an approved-referrers list on my webserver, but there's nothing to stop someone from downloading the pics. Blatant watermarking is annoying, too, as it covers up the subject.
  12. Yes I am. Since I saw this one in a TAG shop and saw how it looked being worn in the film Crank (or GTA3, the Movie as I call it) I decided it was the one for me. The red is a little too harsh, maybe. I mean I'd wear it if I had it, but I think the silver is better.
  13. 200 grammes is a lot for a watch. The 45mm PO is the heaviest watch I can comfortably wear.
  14. To repeat what I said on RWI: Remontoire Echappement à Ancre Ligne droite levées visibles ... It's a 16 jewel Remontoire movement with a Breguet coil and lever escapement, made by Ernest Borel of Neuchatel.
  15. I put my PO on the scales with the 3.5 links removed to make it fit my wrist and it's near as dammit 200 grammes on my kitchen scales.
  16. I've asked around and a few dealers may be able to get this one on special order (Precious Time, for instance) but as it is discontinued and would require a wait. You may well be better off snapping up a second-hand one.
  17. With a non-metal strap? Wow. That's the same weight as my PO with a metal strap.
  18. That's exactly what he said. Replicas are made to look like something more valuable, like a six grand watch, for instance. You can't say "Rubbish" and then agree with him. That's not how it works.
  19. I may just get myself a pair of these to keep my arms fit. Oh, wait. my right arm gets plenty of exercise.
  20. I wonder when we'll see the black/silver dial ...
  21. Maybe the guy doing the copying preferred the Cousteau so that's the one he bought. ps. I want the basic model too.
  22. If you're ever in need of parking your cross-channel ferry, it's good to know you're carrying a spare anchor on your wrist.
  23. Nice pic, TTK. I was considering making a "going batty" joke, but decided against it in the end. How heavy is that steel bracelet? I don't think my scrawny wrist could take it.
  24. Any chance of a wristshot? The XXL is way to big for me, but the 45mm PO is right at my limit.
  25. I buy them to both impress and fool someone: Myself.
