  1. Nope, I sent it to The Zigmeister instead.
  2. When I move to my wee village in Scotland, I'll have no post-office as the local one closed. This means if a package arrives, I have to get a bus for 20 minutes to the nearest town. It's a good job I'll be working from home.
  3. I don't know the Sub, but Silix are great. ps. ETA2836 is a 28k movement, the Beginmariner has a 21k movement.
  4. Sweeeeeet. I'll be bringing a spare Aquatimer link to the GTG so we can get some wristshots soon.
  5. So, a dealer says it won't fit, this thread says it won't fit and ... you still have to ask if it's true? ps. Yes, it's true.
  6. Like I say, they're dumb and they're going to lose.
  7. There's a 50c transfer fee, or so to send money to a dealer. If you're loading it from your CC then there's a 1.9% charge (at least that's what they quote me in France) and it's instant. If I use my bank's online banking to do a direct bank transfer to MB, it's free, but takes 2-5 working days. You can mail them a cheque too, but that takes 10 working days to clear, but, once again, is free. If you're pre-loading it like a savings account, you can also use it as a "Hide my watch money from the Missus" account and throw a few quid/bucks/yoyos in there from time to time. When it hits the right amount, drop your favourite dealer a mail. TTK also now takes MoneyBookers, which is excellent news.
  8. Neil, I hope you get better soon as your charm and acerbic wit has been sorely missed these past months. As soon as your Skype is stable, I'll ring you for a chat. I am one of these people that swears by MonkeyBonkers and swears at WU. MoneyBookers is EU-biased admittedly, which makes a change from everything else that's US-biased, but if you're loading up your account in advance, it's ridiculously cheap to get money to a dealer. It's a little more complicated for US members, but it's worth the effort. Thanks for the post, it should silence the peanut gallery for a day or maybe two.
  9. Center Seconds and Subdials are dfferent: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=12309 Isn't the second-hand on a subdial? ps. Yes, it is. That was a rhetorical question.
  10. In China? The best option left is MoneyBookers.
  11. Once again, another HD (1920x1200) wallpaper. Click for larger (1920x1200) version.
  12. Not continuously for the last six years. Did you see the photo they tried to renew their Trademark with after they started negotiating with Apple? No, really. They are that dumb. A sticker on a Linksys box. It's even outside the shrink wrap.
  13. I think I just let out a little bit of wee. Now. It will be mine now. Give it to me.
  14. I'll be switching to RSS when the only computer I use is my own (ie. Once I move to Scotland and go freelance) and when Apple add RSS to Mail.app (in Leopard, from what we hear). I'm not a fan of putting everything on http://www.google.com/ig just yet, so I need a single computer to do it on.
  15. I'd suggest phoning him. That way, if he sounds offended, you can still pop in incognito for non-rep stuff.
  16. ... and she doesn't understand why you expected her to go near the door, shout "just a second", throw on a dressing gown and open the front door. I mean no make-up? Are you serious? ps. Yes, this is the sort of thing we live with as men.
  17. Oddly enough, no. IRC, AIM, Mailing-lists. This technology stuff is part of my job.
  18. These two both use the newer 28k 7750-copy. You can fit the movement, but the hands don't all fit. In fact, any modern rep in 12-9-6 configuration should not be able to take a gen 7750 movement as it's only reps with the older 21k that have the right hands.
  19. A tiny one off the Champs Elysees, near Place des Ternes. I don't take my camera window shopping because jewellery shops take a very dim view of people casing the joint ... I mean, er, tourists with cameras.
  20. It's Grampa McScoopy!
  21. Ear to the ground, my buddy boy, ear to the ground. Gotta go, that's another hot story boilin' the plates. Taxi!
  22. For all those that were convinced Apple didn't have a leg to stand on in the trademark battle over the name iPhone, maybe you should read this: "An investigation into the ongoing trademark dispute between Cisco and Apple over the name "iPhone" appears to show that Cisco does not own the mark as claimed in their recent lawsuit. This is based on publicly available information from the US Patent and Trademark office, as well as public reviews of Cisco products over the past year. The trademark was apparently abandoned in late 2005/early 2006 because Cisco was not using it." http://blogs.zdnet.com/Burnette/?p=236 Now, this doesn't mean it's all over yet, but it does mean there's a lot more going on that it would appear at first.
  23. I like the edge lighting. Nice and clean.
  24. Them's good eatin'.
