I recently removed by Noobmariner caseback to take a photo of the movement to show people what it was like inside and, when putting the caseback back on, the O-Ring got mangled. So, I need two things: an O-Ring for a 16610 Sub and some grease for the ring. What size do I need and are these easy enough to get in the EU? Thanks to Narikaa, I now have all the caseback tools in the world. Just to make it a worthwhile post, here's the pic:

Free Watch Competition! - Design Me A Logo
Pugwash replied to Precious Time aka PT's topic in General Discussion
Some of us are actually working in pencil on paper. Once it's past the doodle stage, it will get scanned and rendered in Photoshop. This is slower than just knocking something out in Illustrator/Photoshop, but is much more rewarding and gives you something that was obviously not just a fiddled-with text layer. However, if I don't get on with it sharpish, I'll miss the deadline. Damned work, always getting in the way of watchy-stuff. -
Seeing as I'm not a great modder and can't service movements, if I want to sell a watch, I pretty much have to flip it for less than what I paid for it as I can't improve on the condition it arrived in. This got me thinking. I may have mentioned this before, but it jumped into my brain today so I thought I'd float the idea out there. Would anyone be interested in buying a watch from me if it came with a custom one-off photo book filled with pictures I'd taken of the watch specially for the book? I'd use Apple's iPhoto book service with either a large hardback (8.5"x11") or a more reasonably-sized soft-cover (6"x8") with 20 pages of photos and possibly text, with a hand-written dedication (signed and dated for fun, why not?) on the opening page. Oh, and I'd send a CD with the images in high-res on too, so the new owner can use them as he/she sees fit. Would this be of interest and add value to an otherwise average watch? It's just that I have several watches that will soon start gathering dust and I'd rather convert them into my new gen watch fund.

I thought Bush never used the term "Internets" but in fact said "An Internet". Anyone got the actual quote to hand. I'd love to have got this one wrong as your version is funnier.

Car-borne? That was an Edge (3G) connection over his Sony-Productplacemesson mobile. The blood tester was pure Q-branch though. I'll not go into their shoddy workmanship of some items as that may be construed as a spoiler.

Sounds like fun! Count me in for the next one. I'm free on the 8th-9th Dec.

... and even then you need to take care. Brand new 100M diver, first time in the sea: The next day: Returned from the Seiko Service Centre with new parts: Gens can leak too, even the hard-core tool watches. Still, now I know mine is safe, and I put my new (to me, but second-hand) Orange Monster in for a service at the same time.

... and the opposite of Progressive is Conservative. Yes, I get it, and I don't understand how fear of change and belief in something because "that's the way we always dun it" can be seen as a positive stance.

... which is why I posted it as the first reply to the original post.

Oh, and Eva Green? Best [censored] since Madeleine Smith, and she's a better actress by far. Yes, this is an objectifying thing to say, but it's part of the Bond franchise: The Bond Girls are a institution. The dialogue in the Eurostar sold the film, in my opinion.

Oh yeah, with the polarising filter, get a square of black card.

Now that's a nice light box. I just made one for my Breitling review, too. I think I prefer yours. ps. Nice pics, but you need a background or three.

I need one of them. I've got an Orange Monster (sort of in the post) arriving soon, but I need that yellow 200m or the orange one. -

When it's time for something tough but expendable, I have this one: Yes, that pic was taken today just for this post. Yes, it's based on the professional shot of the Steinhart. Yes, it's a better shot all round. ps. I'm seeing a trend of people relying on gen Tool watches instead of reps... -
Like Ulysses of lore, I'm distracted on a quest that means I'm too busy fighting sirens, having been thrown a distraction curve-ball by the gods, to come to my spiritual home.

They do make them waterproof, it's just that they're not daft enough to put a guarantee to it.

Because Republicans are louder. What I want to know is why Liberal is a dirty word, seeing as the Statue of Liberty is based on what a Liberal is. ps. The word Liberal in the UK doesn't mean anything politically like the same thing.

"Here's how it is ..." Cpt. Malcolm Reynolds, Serenity. I call this shot the Andreww/By-Tor Special. Here's how it is, I ordered my Navitimer from Ruby back in the day when she first started making her name as she-who-has-the-new-Navitimers. It's a 28,800vph Asian 7750 copy with the transport gear layer added to change it to a Tri-Compax layout, emulating the 7753 on the original. It arrived, I wore it, I Bob-for-Breitlinged it up and ... it died in its first week. Side view to show the amazing tank-like profile common to all 7750/7753-based watches. Being a decent sort of dealer, Ruby said that she would gladly replace it and I got a return address and sent it back. It's now the 25th of September. "TIME PASSES" The Hobbit - a videogame A fortnight later, she's still not received it, but I can live with that as I'm on holiday. "THORIN SITS DOWN AND STARTS SINGING ABOUT GOLD" The Hobbit - a videogame Ok, it's 3rd of November. This is starting to be a little unfeasible. Let's verify the address I sent it to. Oh, damn, she gave me the wrong address. Oh well. It can happen, I suppose. While we're depressed at this point, let's have a look at the back of the new Navitimer. As you can see, it's got a temperature converter. I've used it precisely twice in the last week. Temperature conversion scale - more useful than you'd think. Anyway, back to the tale of weeping and gnashing. I waited, got a tracking number (useless as usual, until it gets to France) and was off work the day I got an email from the French postage system that the Concierge had received the watch. I went downstairs and got it from her and she was a little surprised I knew it was there as she'd got it in the last 5 minutes. mmm ... pretty As you can probably guess, I ordered it in standard configuration, with the steel bracelet, even though I knew I'd probably never wear it on the steel as it is just way too bling for a skinny white guy that works in IT like me. It takes 22mm straps and I'd already had the one that got sent back on a Bob Strap so this one had the strap taken off before I removed the plastic from it. It's a very shiny strap. If you can do bling, this is a great starter. Personally, I love the off-white style. It's really stunning. Some prefer the dark black or blue dials and I get it, but for me, this is the one. All in all, it's been a while to get to me so I'm a little too relieved to pick fault with it, but I'll try: The date-wheel is recessed. Of course it is, this is an Asian 7750 in Tri-Compax - they all do that. If you don't like this, get a 12-9-6 layout one. I knew this error and the following one before buying, but just in case you didn't, here you go. The Slide Rule is off. It doesn't line up properly. This is a known problem with the 28k Navitimers that the 21k ones didn't have. Check your local dealer's photos, I defy you to find one the dealer's not nudged off-centre to hide this glaring error. Unfortunately, this is annoying because you'll use it more than you'd think. I've used it in the doctors to convert my weight from pounds to kilos and once at work to convert Pounds Sterling to Euros. Having said that, I'm not at all disappointed in this watch and would recommend it to anyone that can live with its faults. Here's a parting stock shot, just so you get the big picture and don't get hung up on the details: Come on, you want one. You know it...

Oh my!

I got it from a kiosk in Bangkok. It's a rubber diving strap with deployant. I'm sure most strap sites will stock something like it.

If you go diving deep enough to need an He valve, don't use a Rep as your timer. -
I picked this one up in a kiosk in Thailand:
