  1. I'm still trying to get all the Navitimer out of my system. Friday is Navitimer: Saturday may be different, but you'll have to tune in to find out.
  2. Just trying something a little different this time.
  3. This is not strictly true. It has extra gears, just not as many as the Daytona, and none on any stressed parts. It's a reliable enough (it's still an Asian 7750) as a configuration. Also, don't go assuming the 28k Navitimer is better in every way than the 21k, as the slide rule on the new Navitimers doesn't line up perfectly, which is why you'll not see it set right in dealers' pics as they don't want to draw attention to this glaring fault. Having said that, I have one (finally) and I love it.
  4. Over on RWI, Takashi requested a widescreen version, so here you go: click for 1920 version
  5. As I had a few minutes spare, I thought I'd rustle up a couple or higher than normal res Navitimer shots. It's a 28k version from Ruby. click for 1280 version click for 1280 version
  6. Hey, and I told him what it was! Grrrr.... ps. Also only kidding. It's nice to see someone summarise a technical thread into a simple, final, definitive post. The more of these guides the merrier.
  7. You missed the point. The gens are cleaned and serviced and the cost is added into the final price.
  8. If you buy a car for $1000 and it dies so you replace it with another $1000 that will die just as quickly, when you reach the third car, the guy who paid the $1000 for someone to fix the known problem is still on his first car and paid less than you. Our 7750 chronos are not finished works: They're built to sell, not to last. The final step of servicing and checking before selling is crucially missed out on our replicas. A service is merely getting someone to finish the construction of your watch.
  9. It's Asgjav's gen Breitling Skyracer.
  10. I'm glad Kostas got a 112 as the logo is only, in my opinion, supposed to be painted on the back of a parka or on the side of a chromed-up Vespa with 8 wing mirrors.
  11. Prevention is better than cure. If your 7750 runs smoothly, winds cleanly, sets accurately, etc. then there's probably no pressing need to get it serviced, but you should still consider it. If it feels gritty or doesn't run as smoothly as you'd like, get it serviced as soon as possible. If you wait for problems, you'll be paying for parts and service instead of just a service. You can't un-wear metal. Still, having said all that, if you paid $250 for a cool a7750 watch, there's no point in getting it serviced if you'd prefer to replace it for $250 than repair it for $200.
  12. Or, what we in the IT trade call a "Black Stick" which is a nylon stick used to pry laptop cases and iPods apart. @Nouns Defions, is your name a pun on something? It sounds like you wanted a military name like "Nous Defions" but ended up with a pun about being decidedly defiant with your fellow words.
  13. Yeah, and the reflection on the cyclops ... and the brushed lugs ... and the raised edge on the crystal. Lot of watch.
  14. Nice piece. Welcome back.
  15. I remove them.
  16. I think it's giving thanks for surviving another year away from us. Happy Turkey And Syphilis Day!

  18. Brilliant.
