  1. Good idea. It's technically very easy given enough bandwidth. My ISP (Free.fr) gives me an IP phone built into my ADSL modem and I can call any landline in France, UK, etc. for free.
  2. No, he hasn't. He tried this same trick only he put his new URL in it. If it is Paul, isn't having two logins against the rules? PAULMART "We ignore the rules so you don't have to!"
  3. Here's a watch using what looks to be that movement: http://www.timeworksonline.com/augatoporeca.html
  4. Nottingham is the number one city in the UK for break-ins and robberies, so no-one has a fancy car there. I see no reason not to believe his story, as everything seems in order. If you're interested, discuss Escrow and authentication with him and it'll give you the needed security. The serial is L280337, fwiw.
  5. The springbar is just like on normal watches, you compress it and slide the metal assembly off. It's fiddly, but straight-forward. Getting it back on is harder.
  6. Now we're talking. However, it's still not coming up on http://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/ This is the best image I've extracted so far.
  7. Truly bargainous find, Ludo. I'm quite jealous.
  8. Not high enough resolution, really. Still, using this pic ... http://www.ukwatches.com/BaselGVA2004/SANTOS_100.jpg ... I looked and it is close to Claremont RR but I'm still not convinced. A higher-resolution image is still needed.
  9. It was a humorous comment about you taking the picture in what appears to be your toilet.
  10. 40mm across the bezel, 42mm across the case.
  11. Good grief! It doesn't take much for you to get defensive, does it? Is this the third reply in a row to my comment? I appreciate your knowledge and effort. Really I do, but if you want your post to be a sticky, and I'm all for it, then you should really get rid of the personal bias, otherwise you end up looking like a petulant child. Making a biased post a 'definitive resource' turns the entire place into a biased forum. Seriously, everyone here knows you're the go-to-guy for strap knowledge on this forum, and this is why you need to turn the other cheek and move on. ps. Congrats on your wedding.
  12. Is this why the seconds are at 3 instead of 9? When a genuine MoonWatch isn't Daytona pricing, it seems cheaper to consider a second-hand gen.
  13. Dude, the toilet? Light a match.
  14. Pugwash

    SMP GMT

It's not aligned correctly. There should be a pointy bit of bezel at the top, not a flat one. This is a normal flaw that all the SMPs have.
  15. Because it's biased and doesn't include TC Straps (Toscana, Mario Paci, Officine Firenze) as V had a spat with E from TC. To even this out, here are some straps from TC Straps. Toscana Il Mupetto Toscana Oreo Toscana Tan Officine Firenze strap
  16. If you give me a high-res dial photo I can tell you the font.
  17. You're probably in the minority there, as the crown is one of those things people look for, along with 'sweeping hands' and the like.
  18. I wouldn't consider servicing a 2836, to be honest. They should run fine out of the box: it's what you're paying extra for.
  19. Neil, look at his email address. lifterforhim is Dave Abramson. (edit to fix spelling of Dave Abramson)
  20. What's incorrect about it?
  21. Is it? How come I can see reflections in every shot?
  22. It depends. The first is close to accurate and the second isn't. Accurate: Less so:
  23. What makes you think they're Moljina movements?
  24. You missed the huge flaw: The reason I chose this watch for the example - The entire movement is off-axis. And because everyone was looking at the date cyclops, no-one noticed. If you didn't spot that while doing a detailed examination of the dial, what else did you miss? You have specific flaws you want to look for and everyone else will have a different checklist. Head-on pictures may be what you're after, but I may want something completely different. Come on, you've got to admit, that was funny.
  25. I really need to stop writing as if I'm annoyed as I rarely am. This is the post: Gran's surprisingly sober Seagull post.
