  1. If you look like Brian "nurse-molester" Peppers, I could only make you look good if you had great [censored].
  2. I'll skype you as soon as I get home then. ...and you photograph way more watches than me.
  3. I have straps. I have lots of straps. What I don't have is watch stands.
  4. I have some watch stands, and you may have seen them in my photos, abd they're ok, apart from one little problem. They're for huge wrists. This means every time I want to take pics of my SS or Ti watches, I have to add links to the straps. This is a little annoying, and adds wear and tear to the straps, as I'm sure you can imagine with the number of photos I take. I've already broken two with the straps being too tight, and was wondering if anyone has a good source of stands that are confirmed normal-person-sized at around 6.5" to 7" wrist equivalent. Any help at all would be appreciated. I have no objections to TehBay as long as I can be sure they're of a certain size. ps: The divers' extensions make the straps too big, fwiw.
  5. The seconds-at-9 ones are as reliable as any Asian 7750 [censored] 7753. As for who has the best ... well, who has the best Sub? If you are serious about who has the best, it's DW. Expect to sell your car for it. Oh, unless you mean you want a modern one, then you want ... who's got the best sub?
  6. Was this the instance that Neil said "Don't send it to WristWatch because he's moving" or am I getting confused?
  7. It was a statement about the gun pics. It made me laugh. I'll try something funny before the competition is up, honest!
  8. (it's ok, it's not my real entry ...)
  9. I'd love one, but I'd have to sell watches to get one. Anyone want a 2nd/3rd gen ETA PO for a good price?
  10. Looks very nice. I was looking at it myself earlier. The problem is a Lemania one. The hour hand subdial follows the main hour hand, as all Lemania Chronos do. This, in my books, stops it from being 'perfect'. Freezing the dial would still mean it wasn't fully functional, and therefore still not perfect. Still, it's damned good, and I want one.
  11. All of them? What if it's mostly mine? ie. The watch. Ok, here's my entry. The background is a composite of several pictures and the watch is all mine. (yes, there's some kind of statement in there)
  12. Is there a limit to the amount of photoshop that can be used? If I enter a composite, is it going to be turned away?
  13. Let's get the necessary disclaimers out of the way. I have nothing against guns. Remember that when you're penning your retort. I have nothing against guns, but I have plenty against retarded gun nuts. You're talking about me aren't you. Come out and say it, I'm a big boy and I can take it. The very fact that you can't see the bloody difference between a gun and a rock means you shouldn't be allowed to carry a firearm. Also, you're implying that we're all weak-willed, liberal (when did that become a dirty word?) pansy girly-men. We're not. Like I said before, and I hope you can remember (It was several sentences ago and I know how that can be hard. It's ok, no-one's looking, you can move your lips while reading. This is the internet, no-one can tell) I have nothing against guns. My objection, and if you read back you'll see it's been a running theme in my posts, is with the sheer and utter lack of respect you're showing. How many times does someone have to say "as a courtesy to those who object" before it sinks in? Some people don't like guns. Some people don't like looking at guns. This has been pointed out to you several times and you don't get it. You start spouting about rights and freedom and armed rebellion, and you still don't understand that the moment you open a browser, you're not in the US any more. Your rights are worth [censored] here, pal. In my youth, I did smooth bore .22LR target shooting and clay pigeon, which is pretty much the upper limit of what you can do in the UK. Like I said before, I don't object to guns. I have a couple of nice knives and a Shin-Gunto in the cupboard, so I'm probably not the guy you imagine. So, back to the point. Over here, in Europe, stem cell research is legal, as are more relaxed abortions. If I posted pictures of aborted foetuses with watches on, I would rightly be kicked off and never asked to return. No-one would think that harsh. However, you lot come on to a European forum (this site is hosted in the UK by a German) and you stamp all over it as if it's Merkin Territory. I bet, for instance, you thought it was a US forum, right? Anyway, I've got a lot of rant left in me but feel I should save it for the inevitable flaming anyone gets when they object to anything the belligerent armed masses do. Just remember, I like Americans and I don't object to guns. I object to the people who don't hear gentle pleas even when they're said over and over again, just because it makes them feel threatened someone will take away their penis ... er, I mean gun. (See? I even added a joke in the last sentence.)
  14. If it weren't for us, you'd be speaking Dutch, pal. Oh, I'm going to add an obsequious "just kidding" so you can't take offence. ... and here comes a big rant. Get the popcorn in.
  15. ... and thank you for proving my point. Don't forget to tip your waitress, I'll be here all month.
  16. Yet you deliberately enflame the argument. You like guns. I honestly don't care about that. However, like I've said, common grace and courtesy would have you stfu about them on a watch forum where several people have professed to having found them offensive. If we started posting medical procedures or hard-core porn, would you be surprised if there were an outcry? I'm not trying to change anyone's opinion as the internet isn't the place for that, I'm just requesting a modicum of respect for your fellow board members. I don't care about guns or porn, but I feel some people are now too scared of the inevitable flames they would get if they decided to stand up for themselves. [censored] like this makes people leave forums.
  17. For that price and that market, damned right it's quartz. Remember, this is a RoW watch, not a Rephound or Gen Collector. Still, I'd be expecting the Panerai lawyers to get in on the action, Italian style. "You-a give us-a da money or ... oh, or those delightful petit-fours and a decent pair of socks and underpants. Gracci"
  18. I've heard good things about the $108 007 ... That 21j movement isn't all that bad, and if you don't want to pay 2.5x the price for what's not 2.5x the watch, it's a steal.
  19. "Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana." - Groucho Marx.
