Er no i have never had a problem undoing movement retaining screws, I had a silix PO once where the screws worked the other way you would screw them all the way in to the movement holder and then when it was all in the case you would unscrew them until they caught a lip in the case and held the movement secure.

it is not just the mole hills of lume, but the unevenness of it all, my GW has slight mounds now but nothing like that, I just showed my 11 year old daughter (who has a bit of watch making experience) and she thinks that she could do better than that on the first try! Vintage, plexy crystal, maybe it is easyer to pass off or more believable being older? No one has ever questioned my 1680 but when i wear a DSSD people ask if it is real one of my main likes about the vintage rollys is the lack of the white gold marker surrounds, they look more toolish.
