  1. Cant get my SOSF back after 2 years, no mater what i make, she want a big pilot but i wont let here have it
  2. I would assume from not looking at the movement that the gears that transfer drive from the stem to the canon pin to adjust the time are worn and need replacing, a service would pick the problem up and the gears should not cost the earth
  3. I like the drilling jig i think i would like to make another like the one i have but from a teflon block
  4. It was this for a while but then i had to take it off until my Birthday (In july ) so back to this
  5. 2846 is a direct drop in replacement for the 2836 that comes out of MBWs, i did it the other week hands date wheel the lot
  6. A flight would be best i think, the GTGs are great events and Brussels a great place to visit.
  7. I have seen a homage one about on ebay somewhere.
  8. Thanks Ubi, your endlinks arrived today but they are pretty small in side the lugs but they may fit the Tudor nicely
  9. Well the 1680 is just about done after the love i have found with the double red that you can read about here, just waiting for some gen endlinks to arrive so i have a miss matched pair on right now, The dial has been relumed a light ivory with Tritec/wifes foundation powder mix just a touch darker than the DRSD, I have to admit the job is not as good as on the SD but it is for me and me only so i have to live with it, the spring bars are the generic rolex type from CousinsUK and apart from the ends not being rounded they look and fit well, Clarkes crystal with about 6 x magnification by the looks of it, Gen crown and tube fitted 93150 hollow link bracelet and a PMWF inser and relumed Ofrie pearl, All in all i think it looks good. Yea yea i know they should not glow but i like lume ok! Sorry about the pics i had to do them with my phone as my camera is still dead after the swim yesterday, but they are not too bad. A big thanks to all for the tips and threads on modding over the past 4-5 years.
  10. It depends where you live in Germany i suppose, i think if i was in Berlin, Hamburg or Munich i would fly but as i live in the middle i drive, this year i may ride. If you are thinking of coming and are looking to car share let me know and we could work some thing out.
  11. I have seen a few with 22m fitted, i think it depends on how soft the leather is as to weather it looks a bit crushed, and also on the strap its self, they are vary really 22m so if you have one that is say 22.2mm then it will look worse than one that is 21,8mm
  12. I have used mat spray to refinish dials in the past and it does add to the durability, but if the paint does not stick well to the dial surface then that will always be a problem, the varnish will help but wont solve the underlying problem.
  13. Green? With envy i am sure a few people will be !
  14. Not yet we have been unable to work a deal out like last time but you have to agree that was a pretty good one and a one off, The Floris listed above is very reasonable
  15. I think we would need to know who is coming by a week before.
  16. Hotels we have used in the past Floris Louise The Brussels Hilton Guys if you have used others in the past please add to this list
  17. Dear all To carry on tradition it has been proposed that the 3rd Annual EU GTG take place as usual in Brussels on the above stated dates, The format for the evening will be as before, a meet and greet followed by a stroll to a local restaurant for dinner followed by after dinner drinks in a location of your choice or return to the start location for cocktails and music. This event has been a wonderful evening in the past and it is Stephan's and my wish that is remains so. Lady guests are more than welcome as are members from outside continental Europe, We will not be arranging accommodation but i will attempt to find one hotel that may offer discounts or recommend ones that have been used before. Members that wish to make a long weekend will find plenty to do over the weekend including the best Chips/Pommes/french fries in the world. Past events can be seen here and here, as well as the smaller GTG that have happened from time to time in the EU that you will find with a bit of a search. This is an opportunity to meet old friend and make new ones that is not to be missed. I for one have made some very good friends and acquaintances through these GTGs. These GTGs are not trade and swap shops but many members have gone home wearing different watches than they arrived with (last year i woke up with a DeepSea and a hang over) I will be asking one thing of members that intend to take part and that is that we pay for dinner into a paypal account before the event to ensure that we can cover the costs of the restaurant in one bill. More details will follow in the coming weeks, I ask that those that wish to attend make them self's known here. I would also like to ask the collectors here if they would like too donate a watch or some thing with in out hobby that we could raffle on the evening for the benefit of the board. In doing so you will receive the the good wishes of the members that attend and i am sure it will be a good PR move. From Stephane and my self we look forward to another memorable evening and greeting old friends and making new ones. !We retain the right to vet new and unknown members who wish to attend, please dont take this the wrong way but this takes place at a private venue.!
  18. I think it is the crown but it looks so much better than the new one with the knurled crown and pushers
  19. Well i have just done the relume in light ivory tritec white/yellow/foundation mix, the lugs are drilled, crown guards modded, bezel pearl lumed and aged a little, hopefully the gen tubes will arrive tomorrow.
  20. Thank you Guys, from what i have seen from the wife's reaction she is a bit Luke warm on the idea of a watch smaller than a SOSF, but she is going to have it any way. Then i may auction it off and get her something else!
  21. As an IWC fan (what the hell is this old rolly doing on my wrist) the Da Vinci is the one watch i like least of the current line up, i am not sure why but there are just edges and shapes that don't fit in my eye.
  22. I like the contrast with the yellow but i don't like the shinny numerals on the dial
  23. the 3717 is a stunning watch also and a wonderfull bracelet
