  1. Great post Ziggy, brill clear photos, just one question, as above from freddy, how do we know where this movement came from, seagull do have a good reputation but as far as i know there about 3 factory's making these in china, I have seen a photo with all three somewhere i will dig it out.
  2. Thanks Shundi, sorry about the late reply
  3. Silver or rohdium plated silver is a thought i have been having but would like a bit more contrast from the case maybe a darkened or aged silver? A bit more contrast on the brushing here
  4. Bavaria and Allgau in particular is where springs to mind for me, some fantastic places to visit like castles and so on, a view of the alps and good beer ( may have to take the Ricard with you though mate) You could not get a lot more fairy tail than Neuschwanstein
  5. Many of you will have read this post on how the mechanics of this thing was made, Well it is now assembled as a working watch. The Dial and hands leave some thing to be desired but that will come in time. it turns out my printer is not all it is cracked up to be so the dial print has a few shall we say "ahem" gaps, How ever that will be remedied with a fully engraved dial in time as will the hands with a bit more schooling. Also the top of the hour wheel and cannon for the hour hand is in for some revision on number 2 I particularly like the finish to the dial as it matches what i was playing with on the crown and winding wheels the pattern i took from and effect that some soldiers make on the top of dress caps with brushes. Also adds a vintage touch in my eye. Once brushed it was gold plated and the print was added (badly) and then lacquered. The movement has been decorated with Pearlage and rotating expanding stripes on the main plate (Photo before plating) and angular polishing on the sides of the bridges and a flat brushed top finish, Then gold plated to provide some corrosion resistance. The main thing is that the watch runs really well at plus 3 sec a day and the back lash in the gears once it is taken up by the running of the watch is just a few min in the hour hand and with it (the hand) being so small hardly noticeable. So just a couple of photos for you all. Please dont look too close at the dial and hands, it is a design try that i like but only at 1% of the quality i am happy with. I do like the way this looks though Any thoughts or advice?
  6. Did any one here buy this to get parts for a franken????? Patent pending 1665 on the bay
  7. OMG what a dial!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. it is not a clone of anything rolex, it is a modded asain 28xx thats all
  9. Woooooooow
  10. In the UK i would recoment Precious time, eurotimez or narikaa, welcome to RWG
  11. No, the only brietling 6.75 with a swiss movement is a gen so for
  12. I would say that with out seeing it that the click spring is out of position and thus not pushing the click into position to block the winding wheel. A simple fix, but you have to make sure you put the spring in the right way round. I f you can post a close up photo we should be able to confirm it
  13. I think DSN may be worth a try as well
  14. Ok i mean like this one
  15. Hi toad, sorry about the late reply, i thin it with a sharpe knife, i have used a dremil and a flap wheel in the past as well, then you just have to trim the furry edges
  16. I think the winner on this has to be something like a breguet pocket watch or a VCm any be a 2 handed patek??? rolex havent been around that long
  17. A thought on the crown could you not use(lot of machining here) a crown from a vintage pam the screw down rolex type or a brevet type, they are big you would need a stem addaptor to thin it down from 1.2 to 0.8 but they are no problems, PS dont have access to the photos here but i will add a pic of the crown i mean later.
  18. The more you try the more you learn, the ET 4813 should be a direct swap in a rolly as well
  19. That is a shame, are spares available for these movements? What sort of shock protection if any is fitted? If it is a kif or incablock then changing a cap jewel is easier than you think after a couple of trys, i find incablok easier than kif.
  20. I have got a new rep 18mm sat around doing nothing right now, I am in the EU right now if that helps
  21. I would say that guy/gal has done that more than a couple of times, speeded up or not a joy to watch.
  22. The part in question is called the reversing wheel and id two gears on top of on another in one direction they stay together and in the other they slip, the parts are not interchangeable with the swiss ones with out a lot of work and Francisco has done a tutorial on changing them and modding the swiss one into Asian
  23. I have bought quite a few Asian movements from official sources and generally found them clean and oiled
  24. The 6,9,3 states no date, although if you were doing a swap i assume you could swap the date change parts. 12, 6, 9 looks to be a direct swap and both look like the 28800 versions.
  25. Could be just old gummy oil on the dial side balance jewel
