  4. As a bike instructor, i always recomend new riders to start on a trail bike, new or used to learn to ride a bike on, the reasons are many 1. When you fall off trail bikes dont cost as much to repair 2. You have a better view of the road as you ar higher up and sat in a better position to look about 3. The are great bikes for touring on as long as you can get 100miles out of one tank fill 4. You can take it off road, and if you learn to ride a bike off road and i dont mean motor cross just grass or dirt then you will ba able to ride better on road, if you lose grip off road and regain it you will kn ow what to do if you lose grip on road with cars all about you. 5. You can take it off road and explore, with a road bike you are stuck to the roads full stop. i started on one of these with a bit of tuning you can get 95 MPH out of it and riding with in the speep limit 100 miles from the tank then i got one of these then one of these *but the 93 version And it now looks like it does above I have riden GSXR/ZZR bla bla but never really like the riding position I recon i have covered a couple of 100k miles over the years and have been a military instructor since 99 but not done any instucting for a couple of years.

  9. Any sort of natural bees wax would work, rub it in and use another bit of leather to burninsh, it takes a while but it make the edges look a bit more finished with out using edgecote.
  10. Looks good, do you plan on doing any thing with the edges? I used to wax and then burnish them.

  13. I think one of the questions here is what defines a sports watch, I would say that most watches on stainless steel bracelets that we have these days, ie subs, ex2s, 3717s and so on look sporty on a bracelet but put them on a nice leather band and you have a nice dress watch as long as the watch was not too thick to start with, that rules out you 187s, DSSD and AP ROO but leaves a lot of room. But you cant argue with Bond can you. Alot may have to do with the person who is wearing the watch, if you are a small thin geeky type guy then and AP ROO will definatly look odd no matter what you wear but if you are the big sized rugby player then a super thin Patek would look strange also. Tonight i will be waering the military equivalent of black tie and diner jacket and a 3717 looks just great.
  14. You are right, what did you pay? would you say the dial was real carbon fiber or printed to look like it?
