A couple of members have expressed a willingness to GTG mid July and maybe visit the markets in the Chezch republic, my wife if also after visiting Prague, we are looking at the second or 3rd weekend in July (work depending) Can any one give some information on where the markets are held and what are the German customs like on the border down there. It would be a bad day if we all crossed the border for a GTG in CR with a box of our best watches and had them all taken on return to Germany! Also can any one give me any info on nice and not too expensive hotels in the capital there? Was that hotel in the card playing film there? might be a tad expensive though.

I bought my wife a 217 i tryed it in an realised i needed a fiddy to match it, it still gets wrist time as well, I was always a swiss snob but now what i have learnt about the 6497s it seams that 99% of them even those advertised as Swiss are at best chiss and mostly swinese.

Its easy with an ETA to make small adjustments, mine is looking like minus 1 second at the moment (over 12 hours not 24) but will make it plus 2 sec if i can, i always prefer my watches to run a couple of seconds fast rather than slow.

Has any one got any info as to when the markets are on and where? Mrs Fx fancys a trip to Prague some time early to mid july, and a stop at the markets could be fun, any one fancy a GTG ?

I have reset the keyless works on unitas, asian 21j and a couple of small pocket watches, it is not that difficult to do if you can do small tasks on works but you have to de case and remove the hands dial and date wheel at least to get to it, if you are not happy doing that try to find a rep friendly watch maker. Hope you get it sorted.

This place is the mall we visit and see what the shop windows have to offer, if there was a cheeper mall just down the street that i could go to i would, I cant! so this is were i do my shopping. I see now. That is a good price, i would be happy to pay that if a new movement was warrented. I see also what you mean about an honest price too. We are talking about a 2892 here though and they are a bit more pricy, i would be very surprised it it was an ETA 2892, no mater whether it was made in china or the moon

Is there a movement that can be used apart from a gen one?? subdial spacing? seconds at 6? correct depth? If there was some one here would have built a franken by now, Is this a gen Dial? We have the worlds concentration or rep experts here (there may be others on DS and the other boards but i would say they would here and there) If this is a rep and two years old and we are saying by the comments above that it is perfect ie 1-1 some one here would know where it came from or at least of its or the makers existance! I recommend caution.
