It is normally done in a cabinet, no not at home but plenty of places can do it. It will not only hammer the area at the bottom of the stamping but also the top evenly, i use it on alloy engine cases that i want to be hard wearing and not pollished as it seals the pores in the alloy and hinders corrosion. once polished it should give an aged appearance but too even. Do as Nanuq says and it will age better. Bead blasting will take sharp edges off alloy so by directing it to an area on 316 eventually will do the same.

Freddy, glass pearl bead blasting, driect the glass ijn the letters and this will do what i thing you want and remove the etched look at the bottom of the letters, get the pearls as fine as possible, then do what Nanuq said!

Pug they are not expensive, i bought mine when i was 21 and a poor earner, it is still worth what i paid for it including what i have spent on it, but all my own work, the time i wont get back.

The parts that are available for the Jap range is very small, for the US range it is extensive. Reliability (yes i know all about the older AMF harleys i have worked on enough of them) a new sporty or big twin left as the factory intended it to be will be very reliable, The only reason we still see bikes braking down is due to shoddy work by home mechs not the factory! Price, go and look they are not as expensive as you think! especialy when you look at the reasons above. I wont go in to the lifestyle side of things, on that side of it as the t shirt says "If i have to explain you would not understand"

When you compare it to the "perfect" @448 or what ever it is it is not a bad thing. Is it better than an MBW, im not an expert, looks like there is no need to mod the CGs on these and if it takes gen parts the same as MBWs? Is the dial better than the current batch from maria, reading yesterday about the newer ons being generally not too good?

I have an E0581 case model with dsn saphire, super lume dsn hands and cannon fix, case is a touch to fat on the sides, be aware the have been a lot of exploding fiddys due to the make up of the glass, have a search for the thread, it happend to both the 117 and 0581 cases. I would say that the best would be a 117 starting point, relume and cannon pin fix. new crystal if warranted, ie when it blows up! I am feeling nice here is the poll i stated the crystals. Here is the discussion about it.

The way the PO has been marketed as in 1st Gen 2nd gen ect was good from out perspective we knew what we were getting, but on a selling point of view it was bad, it always seamed to me that a better one was on the way and it was the ultimate. Now when they make the ultimate plus, (The one with the correct logo) i will finally buy one.
