  1. I hope you are female, and smiling saucily back!
  2. Seams that i hve been too easy on my watches then (see post 9) will have to find a higher board ,harder water and a deaper pool, Then again i am unlikely to dive deaper than 3 m anyway, what about straping my watches tothe front of my bike and riding 100mph in a hail/thunderstorm, we have lots of that right now? I had a poljot chrono once it did not even survive heavy rain in New orleans!
  3. If you want to know if it will fool any one "pass muster" then if they are from here or time zone or paneristeri then no! the average man on the street has never heard of Panerai so fool them yes, but in the end it is a rep and the only persn you are fooling is your self. Will it be a nice watch and tell the time and please you "pass muster" then yes.
  4. if you can get ST18s for less than cousins i would be up for a couple!

    Omega PO

Both are good movements, I have the one from silix. i have heard that the PO with the 2836 hs a slightly deaper case back than the 2824 one but have yet to compare my self
  6. Just be carefull not to press down to much on the stem release, have a good search and you should find a tutorial here somewere in here.
  7. Bring on seagull and selita, I just found the seagull on cousinsuk.com for a touch more than a gen eta 2836, they know that soon tis will proberbly be the coice for many that want some thing reliable, i am of the opinion that correctly serviced this is almost as good as a 2892. I also belive that although parts are not interchangeable between silita and ETA when serviced itis as good as a 2836/24. And the chinese, do we see problems the the asian unitas, no not realy. I dont see a problem with out eta, we will get a valagranges copy and i think it will work. My glass is half full.
  8. I would not say that $350 is a fair price for that watch with a 2836, if it had a Genuine and i mean genuine 2892 i might just find that fair but only just, look what you can get from silix with a 2836 and at what he charges, is this a super rep, IE super luminover, 1 to 1 and all singing and dancing, $350? the only thing singing are the collectors all the way to the bank. I would like to get the dealers to justify this price, and they can! it is justified to them because people will pay it. That is the sad fact.
  9. Well we just have to be patient and see what time brings.
  10. I dont know, with the movement in the mille we seam to be moveing in the right direction to moving the date out far enough, just the PR to be looked at, i think i would be happy with a PR that should be 7 days and read as that when it was only 2, i could learn to live with it. But the date position is another thing that has to be in the right position! I think that is possible now.
  11. Who does GSG9 train with and take training lessons from????????????????????????????????????????????
  12. Take care mine was tight and started to pull the movement holder with it. Work it off slowly all the way a round.
  13. Yep 24mm 120/80 will be fine for you i have 7 1/4 (wrists) and that works fine for me.
  14. A great post can this be pinned somewere like the knowledge base, i have spent ages trying to explain the difference to people about depth ratings on watches, if i could always find this i would just print it out and give it too them. By the way i test my watches at the local pool once they have survived hand washing and showers, 3m board, into the 3.5m pool, if it survives that i am happy, so far all my sport dive watches (except my Fiddy) but including railmaster and Aqua terra have survived.
  15. It should also say chronometre and the date window would be further over to the right with an auto. I would say gen though.
  16. I doubt i would be happy, speak with your collector and see if you can work some thing out. They are faults that could be fixed by a rep reindly watch smith but i would first look see if the seller will sort for you.
  17. He wears a suunto compas watch for work so i would say he knows only about function and not form as we do!
  18. I was asked by a work colleague the other day after a conversation about watches to replace some battery's in a couple of quartz watches and see if i could repair the strap on his Rolex rep, Ok not a problem and today he brings them in, So he shows me the one requiring the repair to the band and Oh is it crap, see below. I said i would fix it and i have, he thought it was ok for a rep, so i handed him my noob and told him what that costs. Then he says he has a better one and passes me a Date just with diamond markers and a glass back, saying look its has a real works in it! Education is in order!
  19. No need for a watch smith, all my reps get the back checked crown screwed in and then i jump in the pool. A little LEAP of fath is some times needed that all.
  20. Thanks i don't think i will be doing that then, expensive!
  21. Where did you get the gen dial and how much if i might ask?
  22. Does any one know what the hand sizes are for the noob, you know the DG2318 or what ever it is, now we all know that it has been listed by some collectors as an asian ETA and we all know that is not true so i doubt that it will take ETA hands but does any one know what they are?????????????????/
