  1. What if you took the end pieces from a DW band and used those?
  2. Marty the bracelet looks real nice! BTW Iread that thread a while back and I emailed Josh. He is no longer willing to sell just the band. Let me know if someone finds something different.
  3. JoJo I am speachless! She is a beauty! You are one very lucky person!!! It is a purchase of a lifetime!
  4. Ubi as always a great review that willbe helpful to many forum users. You know so much more than me so I am reluctant to add this but you might want to add info about some choices having asymetrical pushers.
  5. Marty the watch looks fantastic!
  6. JoJo do you have your sights on a gen 6263? If so Wow! I say keep the reps until you can afford to sell them and replace them with a gen.
  7. Simple - the cost of entry is high. Some people prefer more modern looking watches with sapphire crystals. The v72 versions can require a lot of work and headaches. The 7750 versions require service, replace the crystal, tube and crown. That is unless you get one from Spinmaster. All of this is a headache and it drives the price up as well.
  8. Agreed, My 7750 version has the shallower case back and the rotor removed. I am also having the auto wind mechanism removed for better winding and durability.
  9. Congratualations Stephane! It is a great watch that you will prize for many years. It is good to see it go to such a nice guy.
  10. Freddy can chime in to correct me if needed but it was my understanding that the 7750 movement even with the rotor removed is thicker than the V72 movement. That means that some of the rehault is ground away to accommodate the the movement. A gen 6263 would have a deeper rehault. This is issue is another inconsistency with the gen unless you get case specifically made for the v72 (one that has not been modded for a movement) You best bet would be to keep the 7750 version until you are ready with all the parts for a v72 and then sell the 7750 version and get a new case.
  11. You will probably not be able to use the DW 7750 case for the V72 because of the way it is machined on the inside. Although you can get a case that has not been machined from DW as well. I hope to have my DW 7750 up and running soon. I will continue to be on the look out for a deal on a V72 movement.
  12. I just noticed that the text on the dial is placed higher on the 7750 version.
  13. The one Spin offers would be similar to the one that Freddy333 posted. The sub dial spacing is a little off. The case is good but I think the rehault might be a little shallower on the 7750 version. Not that it really matters very few people have seen a gen 6263. I think the 7750 dials are good but not quite as good as the V72 dials. Other weak areas would be the crown, pushers, crystal, and the band. All in all a good value for the money. The biggest flaw would be the sub dial spacing. Heck I had to look at a side by side picture that Freddy333 posted to see the difference. I had just seen so few 6263 watches.
  14. Mine is waiting for a full movement service. I also have a gen crystal to be installed and a gen crown and after market tube as well. At a later date I would like to add a gen band as well. DW was great to deal with but plan on a full service to clean everything and get it in top notch shape. The dials on the V72s are a little better and of course the spacing of the sub dials is better but the difference is very small. Keep in mind that this is a rare watch. Not many people have ever seen one. Unlike the sub which is very popular.
  15. If you find a nice V72 for $700 consider yourself lucky.
  16. I posted a few days ago that I got my new DW 6263. I want to know how the dial looks. This post has a much closer view of the dial. I know it is dirty. I am sending the watch to have it serviced, Gen tropic 21 installed, gen crown and aftermarket tube installed as well. The only other option would be a PN dial from DW. Actually I have one on the way but it is taking a long time due to the mail. I am anxious and would like to know from the DW experts out there if the likely hood is that this dial would be better and more accurate than the PN dial that is on the way. If that is the case I can make plans to go ahead and send this one off now. I have included a pic of my watch and then a pick of the type of DW PN dial that is on the way below. Thanks for your time!!!
  17. Well I guess that shows how little I really know...... You learn something new every day.
  18. JoJo what do you mean by replacement dial? A dial made at a later time by Rolex?
  19. Maybe you are right. I just thought the "O" was too round and not oval enough as it is on some of the rep dials.
  20. Daytona Dial I would say right off the bat that the "O" in Rolex is too round.
  21. Thanks Avitt, The more I look the more I feel like just getting a gen T-21
  22. Thanks Freddy. Once again I really appreciate your time and expertise
  23. How easy is it to replace the crystal on a DW 6263? I just got a clark crystal in the mail. I am about to send this bad boy off for service and let that person do the crystal replacement too. I could get a gen later. Freddy or anyone else is the Clark the same thickness as the gen? I need to know because my bezel is loose. Do you guys recommend replacing the tube and crown as well?
