  1. there are apparently 2 makers. Best to wait till all the models get out there. I'm going to take a guess and say this thing will be shooting in the 400's which will price me out of the game for now.
  2. there are lots of differences, i'm not going for perfect clone copy, i'm building a bad ass watch plus this blue dial was the reason i started surfing for reps years ago. Here is a crosswind dial on a first generation rep bce
  3. yeah thats the high end for a dial. I have seen them as low as 220. I should have bought that one a few years ago because i can't find it now. I want to make a franken with the roman numerals crosswind dial. I'm going for this dial on a Two Tone rep BCE
  4. or go franken get this (older) gen dial http://cgi.ebay.com/Breitling-Crosswind-Wa...bayphotohosting its from the crosswind model, which is the predicessor to the BCE and get cheiftang double AR
  5. forum supporter panatime has very nice straps for great prices
  6. yeah i have been keeping my eye out for another black movement, but haven't seen one.
  7. if it was that hard to discern as a rep, then someone is not up on their rep resale pricing 75$?? Sounds more like a $200 watch
  8. and for the record, the folks who are talking the black grey i think are on the mark - although i'd prefer like blue - but, the more neutral in color the more broad based appeal. And i think we all realize we have to compromise for the greater good. This will be something special, i'll have to get a ring stand to display next to the watch stands Thanks for looking into this ken, I think that its a great idea - i have always wanted a 2nd round at an RWG watch. I actually like some of the dark side watches, but i've never been in a good place $$ to buy one. - this is so cheap, you can't say no. If your a Lifer that is
  9. To be honest my friend, i wasn't sure what this topic was and i didn't check it for a few days. Had you said, Official RWG logo'd Ring, own a part of history, sign up sheet- i would have clicked right away - also, regarding, changes - at some point you just have to close thet idea list and just say what it is. I think its great, no matter what. I suggest starting a sign up thread with the current draft of the ring also, some of us could put a link to the thread in the signature and that would bring out some folks as well
  10. the ridiculous thing about this thread and it has been mentioned before is, No one is forcing anyone to buy used. - in fact, almost all of the watches being sold are redly available. So i don't feel sorry for the newbs - Do some research Do you go on ebay and buy the first version of an item that you come across? or do you do some searching, watching some auctions, search completed listings? No one is pushing newbs to buy THAT watch - take some time, watch the secondary market - learn, or stick to the dealers. One persons rip off is another persons value. I just bought a watch from PT that i could have gotten 20 bucks cheaper from king - am i being ripped off? - no, but dealing someone with a handle on english is worth the extra few bucks. look i'm the first one to blast George and his aliases - i totally destroyed a relationship with Josh just to try to fight against crazy pricing. I will blow up joe or the other "Scam" modders all day. I have done my bit for king and country on helping members avoid scams - but its just not worth it to get involved in member to member sales - to much subjectivity creates divisiveness. i have sold dozens of watches - when i price it to high - guess what - it sits. When you drop the price to the right point all of a sudden you get 3 PMs
  11. I don't wear rings, but i'm totally down i missed out on the RWG watch. Its like a secret fraternity or free mason ring or something i wonder if the engraving can be a design or are they stuck only doing letters? - ken check that out I agree, the whole, trying to not look stupid by saying - Nice watch, then mumbling - jetmidsayswhat? can be a tuff dance. Do we have a secret handshake as well? can i haze the pledges? how about a minimalist, hands at 10 and 2 design
  12. First of all, pugs, you of all people should know what happens to a good thing, when some people get to personally invested in arguments Second - the 2nd hand market is a market - everyone's examples here are mostly about watches sold by the cartel that can be gotten cheaper from silix ect. he was selling eta PO's for 150 when others were selling used for 220. The info is out there, no one hides it, the dealer websites are linked, talked about openly. If the dude is saying that his is 99% close to the gen - then, we say, thats false corgi, said, we have to stop false and misleading ads - i don't disagree, but if someone simply speaks the truth, and its not misleading - and you all know i mean really misleading. Then leave it alone. Its more trouble than its worth. And re: my eddie lee story - for those of you who were around 2 1/2 years ago, it was a different world, NO one had posted prices, you had to inquire on everything and everyone got different pricing on the forum IN FACT - it was considered BAD FORM to discuss prices that dealers gave us. - You believe that? we used to protect the dealers rights to rip off the newbs. Anyway, Eddie lee was the first person to have an H series pam - the first sandwhich dial in a luminar case - - except, it was basically a radiomar dial 47mm in a 44 mm case -so the numbers were like hugging the outside. I paid 400 for it - and i think it was a asian movement!. within 2 months people were selling the same for like 280. Eddie would claim all kinds of special products and have ridiculously high payments Remember when Saphire Fiddy's were 600 bucks! no one thought it would get cheaper. Point is - just stay out of the private sales, unless there is something seriously wrong - if someone wants to offer a large price for more than they bought it? then shame on the newb for not going to the links section and checking out the sites and looking at the pricing. you will end up causing more heartake than its worth. the one thing you need to learn from the forum is that research is everything - it takes awhile and some trial and error to learn it. You can only lead a newb to water, you can't make him click on the reffered links
  13. Thanks Cmon Guys more photos
  14. ebay scams by definition contain lies global replica lies about quality AAA grade, ect So you didn't make a point. But, The Zigmeister makes the most important point, if you open up thread crapping in threads it will turn into a big personal battle. And i have seen too many of these get out of control. Were here as a source for folks - why do we not just tell everyone who has the best sub - its about research. If your a newb, and you buy used, your taking chances its no more offensive then when EddieLee ripped me off by saying he had some sort of exclusive that i bought a 400$ pam, which was worth, 200 or less. But i was a newb. All the answers are out there, and opinions are like bung holes - everyone has one and they all stink! picking fights will tear the board apart - don't get involved in other folks kitchen - unless they are lying in the ad.
  15. maybe its me, but i'm very underwhelmed
  16. unless you want to make a BCE into a franken bastard crosswind - which i want to do. - like a dude on TRC did ' i would lust after this if it were 2 tone and blue
  17. Its a free market - i agree, if the ad is truthful, then let it stand.
  18. do you have to "pop" the bezel off gently with a piece of metal and or to take it off do you have to remove the screws from the outside of the bezel -- i.e. are they just decoration on the rep. thanks My watchmaker had a bit of a time getting a steelfish crystal off, i don't want him to screw up this bce
  19. fantastic and i might say that your skills have improved such that they are indistinguishable from the the best in the business
  20. so, i haven't started a way cool thread in a very long time - and after seeing a particular watch it hit me. Time to call out the member who has a watch that your jealous of - maybe its to expensive or you have others you want more or its a unique piece. for me pamfried - and the safarai RO with that kick ass strap Alrighty then - call out friends!
  21. well, if i had to guess i would say paul was buying them from angus and re-selling but, since they aren't out yet, maybe its a pre-order price? or angus just posted it wrong. and or both of them are guessing. the photos are the same, i doubt 2 people would be making these
