Just an observation really. I've noticed on all the sandwich dials i've seen on both gen and rep pams, that the 'cut out' numbers look more pronounced on the gens. Is this because the top layer of the dial is thicker on the gens? or just due to other factors i.e ar coating?

By sight alone its not easy to see the difference between platinum and polished ss. But pick it up and you'll know straight away. Platinum is heavier than gold, so therefore WAY heavier than ss. Great watch though!
