  6. Hi ubi! Wearing my silver one these days with solid case back This one is at the moment my favorite of the 3 these days: Did you notice the crooked bezel screw incidentally on all newer mbw AP ROs jumbo?? Its the upper left screw from the "12"... Its funny that always this screw seemed to be glued aslope Have a nice day/weekend folks George
  7. @maxse ...forget about it dude If jeweler, butcher or not... Hey, aint that like the biggest proof for his own "inferiority complex" not asking you somethin like "nice watch, is it a gen?" but rather devaluating your reputation by spreading the rumour and calling you out that your watch aint gen before he could even catch a glimpse of it?? Dont give a s**t about peoples like that! LOL Stephane... i always knew that:
  8. Your right but i meant the jumbo version of the older style VC Overseas what came out first... dont have exact pic (i got the cataloge with ref.nr. at home) but its this exact model just bigger: This more info i found: "...For a company that produces 12,000 watches per year, the Overseas is available in quite a few different varieties. There are four different sizes, at least 5 different dials, and each can be had in 18k yellow gold or stainless steel. There is a woman's size at 30mm, a boy's size at 34mm, a full-size at 37mm, and a chronograph at 40mm. Quartz movements are available on everything except the chronograph. Dials are available in a slate blue, white, salmon, and black. There are choices of stick markers or large arabic numerals. There are diamond bezels available for the women's watches." Concerning the Gentas designed watches and a decent rep of the AP RO jumbo (and non jumbo reg size) opinions may vary... IMO the (mbw) RO jumbo which is TW made is the best regarding quality of finish and material... and a beauty by the finish of the dial, the exact AP-PA clasp. There are few flaws but seen "as a whole" this model still stands out compared to others... Besides of the so called mbw ap ro jumbo i owned a CH version of it and still have a reg sized TW best 38mm case (display caseback, saphire) of the jumbo which is out of production and feels much better than the CH version... Even the sharp and crisp engraved "Royal Oak" on the backside of my newer version of the mbw jumbo is still much more better than the engravings on other versions. The Dial Logo "AP" is easily swapped with a replacement or gen one... color of gold-screws doesnt bother me that much at the moment. K these are the small bugs... as Rlx-Fanatics philosophize about the color of the little red letters on a TW best YM rolesium... But if you like or love? the style of the RO and your lookin for a daily beater the mbw/tw made versions are the way to go It doesnt even bother me that much that the "clous de paris" texture aint centered at the same place where the hole for the markers stands at the gen... but the "waved" design of the dial looks and glistens just fine to me... even more than on the gen. Another thing that seems very funny to me is that on many of the mbw RO jumbos the upper left bezel screw (from the 12) is crooked!! And i dont mean the attempts of some members to swap them.. but out of the box My first (blue one) came crooked too and i sent it back for a replacement... one of the 3 is still crooked but im too buzy doing somethin about this rite now. Its not that much crooked... im speakin of my silver/white one. Sorry for too much OT talk... Regards George
  9. ...dont worry my little friend i lived the same as you but concerning s e x lol You may need some rest and "switch perspective" P.S. maybe a JLC reverso duetto classic would switch just fine with u George
  10. Thats ok... Im not wondering that much hearing this names of 3 very fine timepieces and by design "3 pieces of art" in one thread. Doesnt wanna hijack either... the look of the nautilus somehow amazes me too Both children of Mr. Genta and the Overseas is classy as well. I still have the 38mm Version of the Overseas... waitin till they produce a rep of the "jumbo" version which is also 40mm in case diameter. Regarding my other posts... i have to say that sometimes i have a very special humour... but i dont wanna offend anyway I remeber the thread concerning the "wrist-size"... Anyway... wear it well! George
  11. Congrats on your fine watch-deal Looks like you got one of the newer models with SS-Back? Could you post a shot of the back... just want to compare the serials etc. ... No Face-Shot either?? Best Regards and welcome back to the "Oak-Club" ...lol i see you did the same "bracelet-mod" like i posted on my ROs George
  12. LMAO = Laugh my arms off or catch22... Thats what i call a good point George the PTK (PoorTasteKing)
  13. Congrats! This is definitely a keeper... Growing also in value next years. I consider pulling the trigger myself on a PO or SMP Pls post some pics keep us informed about differences to rep. B/R George
  14. ...i wore both of them, the PO 42mm and 45mm at my AD and the Seamaster. First i liked the design of the PO most but the watch looked a little bit funny on my wrist... seems the case is too thick for me. I like the Seamaster and the "waves" design of the dial a lot Told my AD to give me a call if he gets the 40mm version. Nice casual watch... George
  15. ...Weve been together now for a long time and i deeply wish to be together with you Carol for a very very long time! Youre the most beautiful and gorgeous person ive ever met in my life even mor beautiful from the inside as by youre looks!!! Furthermore youre the reason No. 1 i dont spend too much time on the net. Here comes my Sweetheart wearing a 14K WG Heart/Swarowski crystals... Life is (really) good George I LOVE YOU!!!
  16. Congrats tester nice one you picked in mbk... Price is absolutely ok. I was considering buyin the same one too. Its an nice daily beater, sporty with a suit and suitable with jeans too. The gen is also one of the watches with a good proportion of price and value. At the moment im too much occupied with different things... The gen is also available in a 40mm version and co-axial movement. Maybe ill prefer the Omega Seamaster one day as my daily beater or maybe ill go for a black sub... i dunno. Wear it well George
  17. ...i think this "phemomenon" strongly depends on where you live on the planet. This country-saying might work maybe in some places in US... nevertheless it also depends on the occupation somebody is involved in on what he/she wears or not. Cultural background also plays a major role. In Europe for ex. somethin like "casual-friday" phenomenon like in west coast US or other places would be somethin you couldnt hardly adopt cause people would laugh at that. There are too many people that would say "we wanna be dressed pretty all the week"... Just take a look were fashion, dresses, suits, shoes etc. and the latest styles come from. I saw things on vacation in US, that are absolutely ok by common taste over there but you just couldnt wear most of some clothes/combinations over here cause everybody would be staring at you... Just my thoughts... George
  18. Sorry to hear that tourb!! The customs will black-list you as "bad" addressee for the future. A guy i know had same probs... I wrote you somethin before about this issue and about "my way" solving upcoming problems with german customs. If youre interessted PM me... somethin like this wont happen again. Regards George
  19. Yep! ...you guys at RWG rule!! Big shout out to the german members we should definitely do more guides for tourists on german cities... Especialy places like Kopejsk are gorgeous! George
  20. Hi V... Yup Marco, Thor and others already mentioned the "hard" facts... Nevertheless dont forget Cologne is something like the GAY-CAPITAL of germany Quite similar and comparable to cities like San Francisco - US or Kopejsk - Russia... So have fun... protect yourself and be aware of public toilets! (Especially when George Michael walks around) Regards (the other) George
  21. Interesting thread... although i read prefer reading this issue somehow activates me. Its hard to put decisions that somehow come like strokes in your life into theory and explain why sometimes big changes happen. Maybe concerning your occupation you could say in a simple way either you got money or you got time... but what to do with all "free" time when you got no money=opportunities in life? For myself i somehow lost fear since `99 when i first started workin self-employed and i really got many headeaches in the beginnig thinkin about what will be if all fails. I first started after school (diploma for secondary/matriculation) learning the profession of a toolmaker... which was no "big deal" to decide cause in the town i lived in germany were the european headquarters of a car company owned by general motors (Opel). [To the people not used to this system: In Germany you can learn a profession/job without beeing semi-skilled by your employer, you can learn a job and after a period (sometimes 3 years) you can complete this "apprenticeship" by passing or failing the exam. With the certificate of your job you can highly improve the chances of beeing hired by somebody... in other countries they dont know this system of combined study and handcraftship/work completed with an exam.] After havin passed as a Toolmaker it really [censored] me off workin on a chain even though i did well with the exams i didnt spent 12 months workin and screwin just buffers under the car bodies passing by all day over my head... that was the time i asked myself why did i got all screwed up rasping and drilling metal and learning all kinds of milling cutter CNC stuff without havin now the opportunity to execute my skills? I wasnt alone... i was told to be patient and to wait. I could see many of my former trainees (now together with me on this chain) gettin other, better jobs after some months just because they became "friends" with some labor-union guys to whom they did suck their di*ks on the toilet before. To keep it short i then had several differences with my departement manager... (no i definitely didnt do the toilet-thing) and left the company... At this time i wanted to to somethin else... i first wanted to study engineering at Technical University but then decided to apply for a job/apprenticeship in the "commercial domain" (like bank or insurance...) I simply felt like switching the "blue collar" to "white collar" leaving the boiler suite... It then took another 3 years and i passed off the exam insurance broker/salesman... And believe me, i really was bypassing the toilets these 3 years During this time i discovered my pleasure havin a job workin together with all kinds of people rather than carrying dusty old files through the office or lickin the postage stamps... This was back in 99 when i finished and decided to work self-employed in insurance business rather than beeing someones dust catcher in the office. It wasnt easy at all at the begining... from 99 to know i separated a few times from "partners" that tried to shortchange myself or that wasnt payin off commissions for contracts i made... i dont wanna deepen that financial issue too much. I even went to the labour court with my last Partner in 2001... (No i wasnt willing to do the toilet-thing) After all i found a Partner in 2003 and a Company givin me the chance ridin my business on a really equitable basis... I must really say and underline that after all (since 99) what drives and gave me the power to endure wasnt at all the money... Although i really passed some hard times financially and physically (remember the toilets ) i loved and still love to be my own "boss" and i am really thankful in having a job, where we do have all kinds of people as clients and i really can say i did met some of the most interesting people in my life beeing invited to our customers homes. Not to mention all the times where we could help the people because of fire, robbery or somethin else that would have given most of the claimants, private persons or businessmen, financially the "final shot". I really dont wanna euphemize but i wouldnt even swap my occupation with a better paid assignment as company employee inside a "closed" office... Most of this mealy persons look like natives of an industrial chicken farm At this time we moved with our office to another town, ill also have to manage these days to get another apartment nearby with my girlfriend (shes hot!) I just can say, if you feel and it comes from the inside of you that you should somehow change your life... the condition ...the occupation ...the location you live in because you fell youre life is becoming dull and grey... DO IT!! Its definitely worth concerning these decisions to follow youre heart even if you first fail... attempt the best you can and be persistent cause this is youre own way... Follow youre own track and believe in yourself its the only track you got! I wish you all the luck you need on your tracks... Regards George (p.s. avoid the toilets )
  22. i suppose the same its pretty obvious the dealer knows what this biz is about... shame on the bay and sorry to the unfortunate buyer I just ask myself when will the buyer recognize what he has been into But isnt there a way especially for purchases on ebay to get the charge back (paypall etc.) if youre not gettin what the dealer supposed to sell ??
