Hmm...we're popular with the ladies
Where is King when you need her?

If it was DNS issues then different parts of the world could have been going to different places. Australia, obviously, had a beeline to the real deal
-
It seems to be a bit of a ghost forum....apart from people that have read this thread
Couldn't find any 'new' recommended dealers, just Silix and Trustybagguy (stupid question - I assume that's the same Andrew as Trustywatchguy right?!)
But it was good to read positive experiences and see some pics of purchases - especially since some of those bags ain't cheap! I'm not entirely sure I wouldn't rather buy a real Oroton for the missus (an Australian brand), but that's just my public dithering

Thank you!

Don`t be to sure about that. The dutch should win but they have a very young and inexperienced team so who knows. and you have Guus and he knows everything about the dutch.
Actually that's a good point, hadn't thought of that. Nevertheless he has said that he isn't too fussed about the friendlies (and, of course, the Dutch are probably even less fussed). Let's call it a draw!
And yes that should have been Guus!

Sheesh - 3 hours of test / casino money posts and this is on page 4!

A few points:
First up - it seems the application went in a couple of days ago then, which means it hasn't been gazetted. It is not a registered trademark, but an application has been lodged. I was bold enough to say that I thought he was lying, and he wasn't - so I should acknowledge and apologise for that. Frankly, I can live with myself.
Second: in other discussions the claim was that "TC Dirk Straps" has been trademarked - in fact the application appears to be for "Dirk Straps"
The combination of the two makes this a much darker and more nefarious episode than it was first reported.

Everything is on a timetable.. Little case v's will come to life in one-two years
Nice idea! Doesn't always pan out like that - I mean the 'pill' is only 99.9% effective - YOU CAN'T BEAT THOSE ODDS!!
Congratulations and best wishes
-
-
Er - well, actually they came last in the Kirin Cup!
-
well considering Greece did not qualify for World Cup 06, Our win would be considered "expected"? as we did qualify for the World Cup.
Now beating the Netherlands is something different.
In fairness Greece had to qualify from Europe! The Netherlands we have no hope - indeed it's just a friendly so it doesn't matter too much. Losing to Liechtenstein might be a tad embarrassing.
Then bring on Japan - runners up in the prestigious Kirin Cup!
-
Oi................shhh.............I didn't realise you would remember my team
Ken
-
congratualtions to Australia...and like you said..Greece is still european champions...and the win is great!
Yup it's a good result - Australia wanted to win this one, was pretty much a derby match in Melbourne.
Next match is a friendly against Netherlands - may not go quite so well
Then the real business begins. Gus Hiddink knows what he's doing....
-
Why is there anyone in those teams that can peel off a 60 metre drop punt?
................
Ken
Apart from the goalkeepers?!
Don't worry - AFL wasn't far from the mind! They've had a lot of AFL games on the pitch - so it looked like WWI No Man's Land. Big green circles all over the (teeny weeny) football pitch from the last AFL games.
Surprised you can bring yourself to think about it - aren't Essendon having a 'mare this season?
-
Ah, great result!! Finished just the 1-0, but Greece are still the European Champions so it counts for something.
And a crowd of 95,103 for a 'friendly' is pretty impressive!
-
Australia 1 - Greece 0 at half-time in front of a crowd of 95,000!
Fantastic half-volley from outside the box from Skoko.
Good ol' Gus Hiddink!

It would seem our compatriots at RWI are seriously enamoured with their latest suitor, the irrepressible Elliott.
http://replica-watch.info/forum/viewtopic....2995&highlight=
How anyone, with a modicum of intelligence, could consider his actions as being beneficial to their forum, totally escapes one. He has sent VP members scurrying to safer climes, who knows, some may even see the light and join a legitimate rep forum? At least one without his grubby presence.
Must be all the freebies; but like lambs to the slaughter, he will lead these misguided youth.
And when he finally brings RWI to its knees, and there is nothing more certain, they will all need to find a new house to play in as well.
Trademark or not, these are the actions of a seriously dirty individual.
So Elliott- remember- I am

Curious reaction, you're right! And yes, the main point is that this was a low blow.
But don't forget people - TC Dirk's are the ONLY Dirk with a "100% guaranty agianst waterpfoofing"
I don't know why, but waterpfoofing cracks me up!

Give 'till it hurts! 'till it bleeds! Give 'till you can give no more - then give some more! Try it and see: it will feel good!
May God Bless You, Lads!
Inspiring!!
In the meantime, word has spread....

I'm selling the exclusive rights to 'fu$§*tard'
Would look great on a calling-card, corporate logo or your dog's ID collar.
All proceeds donated to the Edge Fund...
But I think people will know the difference between somebody who has purchased the rights to being called a 'fu$§*tard' and the genuine article!

Nice!
Are they real / fake / a mix?

TM doesn't mean anything in U.S.
Dutchy has a TM. hehe.
Apparently the use of TM comes under state law in the US. And in Texas, the relevant state, anyone can add this without it meaning much.
There is also a process to register trademarks at a state level in Texas - this gives you a presumption in your favour within Texas, but that is all. It is conceivable that he has done this. However, it provides no US-wide protection, and it would be trumped by a US or international registered trademark.
It certainly doesn't stop Dirk using his own name, or registering a proper trade mark, or place any restriction upon questions of 'passing off'.
-
I can respond to this,, I was told today by a very good friend,, that Elliott has TOLD him that HE now owns the name TC Dirks, AND either "Dirks.com",,, or/and "DirksStraps.com",,, etc,, So you can lay-off your somewhat defense of this scumbag, that I, and SEVERAL others on this and other boards TOLD you he was a scumbag way back when,,, OK?
I'm NOT defending him, most emphatically. I'm saying he is lying. TC Dirks is NOT a registered trademark, to him or anybody else.
-
Just FYI:
® = registered trademark
™ = unregistered trademark
This is correct. But since the point of a 'trademark' is the legal protection you get by registering it, an unregistered trademark doesn't mean much (as in, adding the letters TM adds nothing to your rights)
In the UK and Australia the symbol TM is totally meaningless. Only ® counts for anything, and it's illegal to use this if it's not registered.
I believe (but I may be wrong) that the use of TM in the US indicates that you have applied for registration, but that it is not yet registered.
No such application has been made according the relevant IP databases.
Given that he isn't even claiming to have applied to trademark TC Straps (which naturally you would do at the same time), the whole thing sounds like a bit of a fantasy.

Yes, there are several different intellectual property rights that you can apply to a design. In Australia, for example, there are "design rights". But these can overlap with copyright and patent protection too, depending on what you are trying to register.Design? Like a design patent or something?I just wanted to differentiate this from the trade mark (Dirk), as they are getting in a muddle in other discussions.
It would be quite easy for Dirk to protect his name - given that a certain level of confusion and brand loyalty has been shown, it would seem worth his while.
