You can see the "drunk" stones if you enlarge my first picture. I mailed it back yesterday and I sincerely hope the replacement will have straight stones! I asked River to pick the best watch that he has in stock...I don't care which color dial because I like all three. It wouldn't have bothered me so much if just one stone was slightly crooked, but most of the stones were crooked on this watch.

That's actually good to hear, cheers. I wasn't sure if the stones being a bit off was supposed to be part of the accepted 'rep' factor on this watch - so pleased that isn't. Hopefully you'll get your new one soon.

I'm more and more inclined to think that this will be the gift watch!

I look out through my window, across the pastures 'round my home,

The 'diamonds' being a bit off is one of the things that makes me pause about buying my wife this watch, so it would be great to see yours.

On another note have any English members been watching the build up on local TV? It seems that the only T&T player that the media want to speak to is.... a white English guy called Burchill whose mother was born in Port of Spain (capital of T&T). I don't want to call the British media racist but it would seem that he was the only guy in the team - must be slightly irritating for the other members of the team...

English media are awful come World Cup time.

That said, I think it is just a great story for them - a bit like the opposite of Cool Runnings. It is also the fact he plays in a lower league and now he is at the World Cup. And he is, after all, English and playing England (but other members of the team are too).

If it is any consolation, the whole of Scotland is smitten with Jason Scotland (he lives in Scotland)!!

There's a possibility of me being in the area after Christmas but nothing set in stone yet.

Yes, I am out by a factor of ten! Simple arithmetic mistake! I had turned 9.1859 x 10^4 into 9185 when it is 91859.

So the proved oil supplies = 91,859 kg of mass.

Divided by your 16840 days = 5.45 kg. So in other words, the world's daily oil consumption is in more like 10 tins of beans (including the tin) rather than 1.

Took me a while to work out where I had stuffed that up - quite relieved now!
