  1. I'm sorry Toad, you got the best noob guide, I know. But comparing your avatar to mine I'd have to say I'll try and fetch them off of you. Val.
  2. Great, Lani. Will do this. I find your idea very good! We'll see how this works. Maybe give some feedback after a few weeks. Yours kindly Valerian
  3. Hi and Welcome to this great place! It's not raining in Basel at the moment. But it's awfully cold. Make sure to read Toad's Fantastic Noob Guide and be careful about our customs! Yours kindly Valerian
  4. This is a great idea! Maximum supporter count, minimum best sub questions (although I find those quite endearing)!!! One question though: how do we make sure that the poor noob won't have to fight off 20 well meaning guides PMing him about upgrade possibilities? Could shy them away... Yours kindly Val.
  5. Hello JB and welcome to this great place! Although I'm an IWC guy I'd go for the GMT Master II if I had to choose. Read around and you will find all the information you need to make a perfect transaction. And if you're happy with what you got please think about giving something back and update to a supporter membership. It helps keep the forum alive. Yours kindly Valerian
  6. Hello and Welcome! It's a beautiful watch I must admit (though I'm usually not into Breits). Must....not.....get.....it! Aargh! Valerian
  7. Mesmerizing, innit? I plan to use it to stunn the ladies, but until they arrive I will charm the poor noobs. Yours kindly Valerian
  8. Interesting read, agrippa. Sometimes one learns something totally new about oneself. I might be considered a natural sleeping pill. Makes me mighty proud! Take care! Valerian
  9. Sad story. But Beyer doesn't really run a risk saying this: He knows people buy watches even though they don't really "need" them. They crave them, and that makes his business.
  10. Aaaaah. Yes, BT, you are absolutely right. I gotta get one of those. Mmmm. This is going to be a great thread. Thanks, Freddy! Yours kindly Valerian
  11. In no way will I stand a chance against rapid-fire-mike! I'm just a weekend gunman. Take care, my friend. Yours kindly Valerian
  12. Errrrrr. OK. Unholy. Very unholy. I'm speechless. Sort of. Thanks for clarifying. Yours kindly Valerian
  13. Good to see you here, Mike! I knew you'd never fail. Yours kindly Valerian
  14. Until the Wal-Mart greeter arrives and takes care of you I will say: Welcome! this is a wonderful place if you love watches! Please take the time to read before asking questions concerning which collector to buy from and which version to get. It pays. Yours kindly Valerian
  15. Impeccable taste! That would be my number 2! Yours kindly Valerian
  16. This thread is instant classic material. Deserves a sticky IMO. From now on whenever I'm in a bad mood about the worlds bad ways I'm gonna read this again. Yours kindly Valerian
  17. Adding content is great as well, man. After all it makes the appeal of RWG. I wish I could do more in that way but I'm not as competent as others in this field. Valerian
  18. Reading all those heart warming stories I feel like going somewhere doing something good. Yours kindly Valerian
  19. For me this must be the father AND mother of all modern pilot chronos, the wonderfully sober and clean IWC 3706 Fliegerchronograph: I like the follower, the ubiquitous 3717 and also the BP but the IWC world will never be the same again after the closing down of this legendary model. Yours kindly Valerian
  20. I'm absolutely with you guys and I even put on only gens at the moment as I live in Basel and streets are full of watch savvy people at the moment but you will have to excuse me on this: What in the lords name is this instrument? And how would it be used on the offenders behind? Yours kindly Valerian
  21. From last weeks "Z", a swiss lifestyle magazine by NZZ: Andr
  22. Hi Glen and Welcome to this wonderful place! My advice to you would be to read Toad's outstanding Welcome information for noobs. See here: Toad's Fantastic Noob Guide Yours kindly Valerian
  23. Hi John and Welcome! You've come to a great place. Be sure to read a lot before ordering, it pays! Yours kindly Valerian
  24. Beautiful. Argh! This watch grows on me. Thanks for showing. Yours kindly Valerian
