  1. I still find this watch absolutely stunning. Never understood the "Bling"-problem. Don't think it's blingy at all. When I compare the Gen at the AD to my Rep everything about the Gen looks sharper, more to the point. The black is blacker, the green of the GMT hand is greener, the shine is shinier. Hard to express really but I think this gen is definitively worth the bucks (if you can ever say this of a time-measuring instrument more expensive than a cell phone). Wear it well, Laz. I'm very jealous. Val.
  2. Anybody hear anything from Lani? I'd like to know how if he's better. He's been off the forum for more than 24h, which is very unusual. Val.
  3. I always dig George Best: "I spent a fortune on booze, birds and fast cars, and the rest I just squandered." V.
  4. That is really a stunner! Hope they rep this soon. V.
  5. offshore, that's a rather cunning plan, alas methinks The Raffle Meister would notice for sure. I fear his furious revenge! I really don't understand why it takes so long for those tix to sell. I don't think I'll win the price (never do) but it's great fun to contribute like this and most of us have spent money for worse things... just my 2 cents, though. Val.
  6. Down on 7 now. They are getting rarer now. Hurry before it's too late, guys! I wish I could buy some more tix. Val.
  7. Still not sold out? Unbelievable! This is a one of a kind chance to win an absolute Grail Watch while supporting our community! Come on, people, buy vourself a ticket for Monday! Val.
  8. Go on then man, this is a great opportunity! Oh, and a bump by the way. Val.
  9. All the best to our Raffle Meister! Get well soon! Pneumonia is nothing to make jokes about it, so staying in bed for a few days doesn't seem to be a luxury! Take care. Valerian.
  10. And a bump for our european friends getting at the breakfast table! Come on, guys! This is too good an opportunity to miss! And a great way of contributing to the cause!
  11. Hi everybody I have just done the Bike Chain Wax thingy to my GMTIIc bracelet and want to let you know that the result is way beyond the expected! I have tried baby oil (smells girlieish), sewing machine oil (irritates the skin) and olive oil (omg, don't do this, it smells rancid within days!) before and those methods don't even come close. So I think this thread deserves a bumb event though it's a shame the pix are gone. Kind regards Val.
  12. Spectacular, guys! Thanks Ubi and Lani for this action! I hope I will be quick enough to get my tix. Val.
  13. That is very impressive, Francisco! Thank you very much for the creativity and for showing. Val.

Little coffee geek there? Cheating Miss Silvia? I like that machine, got it for my father two years ago. I use a Isomac Zaffiro. But my milk won't look as good as yours ever. Val.

King of Latte art! Very cool. May I ask what kind of espresso machine you use? Thanks! Val.
  17. Hi guys! Still my vintage IWC today, although some AD told me it was a "Sunday Watch", not to be worn everyday. Regards Val.
  18. 48 hours without RWG?! I wish you luck for the update (and cross my fingers for our sake as well). Thanks for all the good work. Val.
  19. Hello Ecor, and Welcome to you! You have indeed come to a great place. You seem to know a fair bit about watches. You got the chance to learn a great deal more here. I am quite certain membership here is in general more competent than on gen fora. Kind regards Val.
  20. Now this gets even more interesting! I've been refused by two indy watchmakers already... Sorry for being unclear: I'm not interested in the datewheel swap, but Pug's tutorial shows how to GET to the datewheel. I think the problem is with date wheel transportation; if I remove the date wheel I might be able to put a washer and fix it. I'll shut up now and let's wait if YOUR questions are answered, it's your thread. Kind regards Val.
  21. A first: My beloved IWC vintage (don't even know what caliber it is): Sorry for the bad pic, still in desperate need of a better cam. Regards Val.
  22. Hi Simon, hi everyone I have the exact same problem on a wonderful PAM164 I got from a respected member here in RWG. I am quite certain that I messed the movement up while trying to set the date at the wrong time. Stupid me. I have read Pug's excellent tutorial for a date wheel swap and contemplate trying to fix the problem myself (I'm in Switzerland, sending watches around is dangerous and finding a local Rep friendly watchmaker nearly impossible). I'm not too savvy working in movements. Experts, I'd be grateful for the brutal truth: Do I stand a chance fixing this myself or must I look for another way? Sorry Simon, not meant to highjack your thread, maybe this could be interesting for you too. Kind regards Valerian
