  1. Hi Used somethin' like this this: Once the pin is half way standing out you can fairly easily grab it and pull. No scratching at all. For putting the pin back in I used a small hammer first then the tool shown above again. Worked perfectly. Kind regards Val.
  2. (Val crawling back from under the table onto his chair) I forgot to say: It's absolutely stunning. I have seen only bits yet. We should get Robbie to have a look at it. Now that is true. Would be a shame if you were. Val.
  3. Lani! WTF? Everyone is waiting for a post like this and you do hide it in here! Deniz, consider your thread officially pimped by the master collector himself! Val (slowly fainting).
  4. No Deniz, not a UPO. This is a POrikaa. Much cheaper, more flaws but excellent value for the money. See here: Narikaa's zone Val.
  5. Hi Deniz, I just meant that Narikaa's price of 65 GBP is a discount price for such a nice looking and well made rep. For shortening the bracelet I used this: The seller is in Germany, should work nicely for you. Uhrmachwerkzeug Take care. Val.
  6. Hi Deniz There's many approaches to put together a "Good Collection". Of course the only right way is your way. You should buy what you like not what others tell you. My own approach was to go for the best selling classics first: Rolex Sea-Dweller (modern) Rolex Submariner (modern) Rolex GMT II Ceramic Omega Railmaster PAM 111 IWC Flieger (that was my first one, not so common, you could opt for the 3717) I chose by several criterias: I wanted classic design and good quality replication. Of course you then get sidetracked, you start to like designs you never thought you'd ever look at closely etc. Somebody else might be totally different. You could go for the rare and special, buy reps that nobody else has. This strategy is a little difficult as you can't ask many others for advice and you get watches that have not been tested by many. There are usually not many generations of these models, so the typical initial flaws will never be corrected... I personally didn't waste much thought on the consistency of my collection. I just went from one watch I liked to the next. It's been a lot of fun so far. Just my 2 cents... Val.
  7. Hi Oren I like the look of your Bulova very much! It's elegant yet understated. Congratulations! The skin cells part of your video is quite nasty. Maybe this could be of some help? I've never tried it but it seems to work well. Good luck, man. Val.
  8. Can't compete with your guys' pix but I have to show my new toy! Sorry for the bad lighting, but I think the orange light complements the watch. (Bad excuse, I know.) Val.
  9. Thanks. Nope, it's one of Narikaa's discount POs. Val.
  10. One year ago if somebody had told me I would in future wear a watch like this I would have laughed in his face. I'm really not a sports watch type of guy. But all your PO-threads have worn me down (i.e. the POs have really grown on me) so I have ordered a POrikaa. And since I love to do right once decided to do them I ordered the orange version. My girl thinks I'm crazy but I love it very much. Sorry for another pic of this model (and a bad one at that) but I just have to boast a little! BTW shortening the bracelet was a piece of cake. Just get the right tool for it. Comments are welcome, of course. Val.
  11. Ooooooh. I'm disappointed but I kinda knew the guy who got to buy first and last ticket would win. It's a voodoo thing. db2, wear it with pride, I'm very jealous. Congrats! Val.
  12. No doubt about that, T. I was just thinking, if I had wanted to buy three tix and in fact only had one, it would really make me want to kick myself. Val.
  13. Errm... Maybe the guys who bought multiple tix should check their PP-accounts? See if they paid all tix? Just a thought. Val.
  14. Now we're on a roll! Only seven more tix!
  15. Welcome! You struck on rep goldmine! Val.
  16. Hi If my memory serves me right TeeJay has at one time owned one. He's away to meet his people ATM so you must be patient. Val.
  17. No idea what mine are! Who cares, Admin will see to it. Bump!
  18. Cool, Panoris! Common guys! We're at 19 tix, let's make it half the tix within 24 hours! Val.
  19. Spoken very true, my friend. It's what I like about this model and what I fear got lost a bit over the last few years. I still prefer the pre-Richemont designs of the brand. Although I gotta say the 3717 grows on me... True again. Look at the auction, no one's bid yet. If you want bling, you won't buy a 3706 Flieger, regardless of some ice on top. Val.
  20. Very sorry to hear this. It reminds me of something that happened to me some years ago: I own a Gen vintage IWC with handwinding movement. After moving to another city I couldn't find it anywhere anymore. It was given to me to my 18th birthday by my mother, so naturally I was devastated. After a few weeks the pain got less and I got a Max Bill Junghans handwind watch from my mother, who couldn't see me being depressed over my loss. I liked it very much, but it lacked the charms of the vintage IWC). Three years later I decided (for the umpteenth time) to loose a few stones, which amazingly worked for once (my then-girlfriend leaving me sure helped). I then found it very pleasing to put on clothes I hadn't worn for a long, fat time. I also tried on an old dinner jacket I'd nearly forgotten. Guess what I found in the inner pocket of that jacket? I'd put it there to protect it while moving. Very stupid! Today I'm back to normal size, but at least I still have my IWC. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, sometimes little miracles happen. Val.
