  1. Lanikai Thank you very much for doing this again, your energy is priceless! Thanks also to the anonymous donor of this desirable speedy. I have just purchased my max amount of tix. Awaiting the famous automated e-Mail now. Kind regards Val.
  2. Cool! Looking forward to the shop! Will Offshore be a "noob dealer"? Just kidding, wishing Alan all the best. Valerian
  3. Sorry, I don't. Never openend it. Somebody else?
  4. You're welcome. Others will have to help about 3717 questions. I don't really like the newer IWC models so I don't own a 3717. The rehaut is not really deeper but it has the wrong angle (90 degrees instead of about 75 degrees, roughly guessed). So while the outer diameter of the case might be correct the inner diameter - where the dial would be placed - is too wide... See Pugs review for pix: Here If you know where to look you can see it easily. About that franken with a gen case: I've never seen a case being sold and I doubt it will be a cheaper way to get a good looking 3706. But maybe there is a way to make a spacer ring for the dial so you can use the rep case? 1500 USD is a very good price! I paid 2300 USD and have never seen a better offer since last February.
  5. Hi there The one I got a year and a half ago didn't have a Swiss 7750 in it, it was asian. I seriously doubt you will find one with a gen Swiss 7750. As a Swiss 7750 is around 350 USD at least, 217 USD for the watch with a gen movement inside isn't a credible offer. The only flaw ever fixed was the wrong coloured chrono hands (they were changed to white), the dial was never changed. It is highly doubtful anybody will fix this as this model is discontinued by IWC and the newer 3717 rep is so good it gets all the attention. The worst flaw compared to the Gen in my opinion is the wrong case: the rehaut is too steep. This will also prevent you from using a gen dial, which you can buy regularly on the Bay. The gen dial is too small because of this. I know there are people who tried a workaround to use the gen dial anyway but I have never seen an actual franken of the 3706 flieger. I like this watch very much but the flaws of the rep forced me to go gen very soon. Kind regards Val.
  6. Found on the Bay today: My beloved IWC Flieger 3706 with an icey bezel! What do you guys think? Methinks it's hideous! Val.
  7. Hmmm. Just back from a few days holiday and going throught this thread... There's a lot of half wisdom and hear say in there and also (just for me, being legally trained at a Swiss university) too much that sounds like [censored] to me. I focus on the one thing I do know for sure: It is not punishable to own reps in Switzerland. You cannot legally import them and they will be seized by Customs if they get hold of them but even import for personal use is not actionable under Swiss penal law. They will just take it, destroy it and leave you with the financial (and emotional) loss. I have never heard of an AD in Switzerland confiscating anything as even in a strange country like Switzerland you need official authority to enforce copyright laws. You will in contrast get sneered at (rightly so) and maybe thrown out of the shop but I doubt they'd even call the police for it. Too much of a stir which could shy financially potential customers away. Take care. Val.
  8. I agree, genuine without a doubt. I own this, paid 2300 USD last February without the bracelet. So ATM the price is rather good. See Pug's great review of the rep here, it contains a comparison to the gen. Kind regards Val.
  9. Yum yum! I'll be in, from 60 to 120, doesn't matter. Val.

Mouthwatering! Stunning watch, I love it. Val.
  11. Cool! We're having a comeback moment here! I searched the forum for weeks abot this watch then decided to buy a Railmaster 39mm a few weeks ago. Precious Time still sells it and I find it to be a very accurate and most of all very beautiful watch! Thanks for bringing this up, Lani! Val.
  12. Holy cow! I missed this the first time round! This is absolutely fantastic. You don't happen to have a second one of those homegrown Explorers? I'd buy one of you any minute! Thanks for showing this. Valerian
  13. Hey Offshore, that's a very entertaining and informative read. Thanks for taking the time for it! It makes me want to go there and take a look myself. I will be in HK in November for a week. I'm very much looking forward to it, but Guangzhu must be extreme in many ways. Kind regards Val.
  14. Are there really quartz reps with sweeping dial? I thought there was a power leaking problem with these movements? Anybody knows? Val. P.S. I love those pix, btw. Made me want one, but I can't buy it since each day I preach to my poor girlfriend that quartz watches aren't watches really.
  15. Man I get so envious from watching these... Will turn around many times today, Lani. Mouthwatering intermezzos. So many more views will occur. Val.
  16. Hi Robbie Great to see you posting! Was wondering where you are. I always enjoyed reading your posts. Val.
  17. Uuuuhhhh. My ocular oygens! That is a "fraction"?! Awesome collection. Val.
  18. Thanks, Lani. Very kind. Next time I'll be there I will take some extra shots for you. Val.
  19. Simple? I don't really think so. This is an all time classic watch. The rep had quite a few flaws and Euno managed to get rid of almost all of them. Extreme modding in its purest form! Thanks for digging this thread out! Val.
  20. Will this qualify as a near-wristie? Val.
  21. Very very very beautiful! OMG, it's wonderful. I wish I could do something like this. Val.
  22. Man, I only just found this. When I was a kid I thought Lucky Luke was the incarnation of cool. At 22 I thought it was Michael Madsen. From this day on I know it's Pugwash. Val.
  23. Offshore, this is an absolutely fantastic insight for me! Thanks very much for taking the time and write all this down. It's a strange world over there... Val.
  24. Your pix are so sharp my eyes hurt! Very nice review, I wish I could pix like those... Thanks for all the work! Val.
