  1. I've got a friend who is quite well off. Drives a new Aston Martin. Owns a gen Big Pilot and is into "watches". He shows up with the worst crap like Pam's with a fake tourbillion, etc.. He knows I collect reps as well as Gens, but thinks I always wear the gens (which I don't. they're just good reps). When I gently let him know his stuff sucks, he gets defensive, so I've decided to keep quiet, and let him think I only wear my gens, and that his stuff is ok. Ignorance is bliss.
  2. I bought two a couple of years ago. One side on both have crapped out. about a year ago I bought another which seemed to have a different operational design. that one is still going strong. It begs the question.....can they be repaired?
  3. I'm into power reserve today: Tomorrow: RO city of sails from TTK a couple of years ago.
  4. You gotta change that sedentary life style
  5. I just came over too, but I do that a lot. Lately, no one's home. Being here is like doing coke. RWI is like being on crack! TRC is like a good joint. Nice and mellow.
  6. I agree. I have the 008 and it is nearly flawless. The others have some minor flaws and are verrrry nice, but for me the 008 is the best of them. Subtle, classy and.........still in your face!
  7. One of the main reasons these reps are costing more, is the decline in the dollar. Nobody discusses it but the dollars down more than 25%.
  8. A couple of years ago we were happy to pay 300, even 400+ for the new Pams, MBW's, etc.. They were pretty good then. Why are we unhappy now? Then I read an inference that some members think they deserve to get a reduced price because they gave comments on improving this one. Don't get that one?? I, for one, would never spend the extra $300 for the swiss version, only because I've had good luck with the asian 7750, but that's just me. Of course, most of you are unhappy that it's not selling for $200/250. Well, this isn't a watch for everybody. There is still plenty of cheaper reps (and damn good ones coming out every day). Like the Big Bang (which I don't get!?) which is selling like mad, this one will too. I haven't decided whether I'm gonna play, but if I do, the price won't stand in the way. Kudo's for those taking the time and the risk for putting this one together!
  9. Monday is PO day Tuesday: IWC
  10. Here we go............Monday: Gen Tudor Tuesday: Wednesday:Pam 192
  11. It probably is, but so what? It's one of the nicest, classiest watches I've seen. Who's gonna know........other than sellers of IWC. If you like it.............go for it.
  12. Nice one. Looking forward to your comparison. Wear it well!
  13. I agree with TTK. It's all about the watch and the person wearing it, not about the car. I had reservations about it but finally stepped up. I wear it. I like it. I don't give a sh*t what someone might say.....although, I do have some nice wheels. But, not everyone will agree.....and that's ok too.
  14. In this case, I agree. I'm going to go with the asian model with black face/black date wheel. I think the difference in looks is subliminal.
  15. Of course you can! Would you prefer to wear a watch that goes with your used VW?
  16. Wonderful looking. Forget the spare mvnt for now. These work great and you can always find one if need be.
  17. Right now I'm wearing my Pam 183: Tomorrow: My PN Daytona And Sunday.........Glycine Airman
  18. I do prefer the 008, less noisy. I picked one up (wish I had waited for Neil, but the price was sooo good). Hate the strap. Why doesn't someone come up with one with yellow stitching. Would look really nice on the 008. Have to say the red needle one is a beauty as well.
  19. Noooo..........They just said Happy birthday. There was something about "old farts"! Happy Birthday!!
