  1. yes it would be great to have Neil back posting his stuff
  2. Important points indeed So this comes down to what one consider "better" Better = more similar or Better = quality (QC/reliability/accuracy) Obviously it should not really matter what the movement looks like if it can do the jobb..especially if it is not visible until you open up the watch...but then agan some are so anal that every little detail should be a similar as possible to the genuine (this being very difficult with a ROLEX and many other brands as they have inhouse production of movements and parts that are very very difficult or simply too expensive to copy convincingly)
  3. The AP ROO is actually very nice I actually liked the HUBLOT at the start but not so sure anymore I actually have problems with finding most CORUMs, ROLEXes and BREITELINGS desireable...even if they are of great quality, have excellent movements, are almost universally reqognized and maker show excellent attention to details but just not my cup of tea.... Regarding replicas I just can get those with the smiley sun (when there should be a moon phase). In general I dont get and I do not like watches with complications that are faux...
  4. Excellent review "Apart from the movement
  5. I bring with me 1 replica...in the past i brought several....I was crazy then
  6. Its ugly in an olympic manner and i like the olympics
  7. its really not that confusing....it could have nothing to do with quality and it may it have something to do with a bridge:drinks:..do some comparisons of what the replica and genuine movements.....and the answer may lie there right in front of you...you may figure it out...
  8. Mmmmmmmmmmm...this might be tricky as the difference in quality between two watches may (or may not) be much more than a difference in the movements used High beat like 28800 means the seconds hand will move smoothly compared to a beat of 21,600...but again in some watches you want that slower beat to best imitate the way the seconds hand move in the genuine watch (like in some ROLEXes and even OMEGAs and some watches with very long power reserve as the faster the beat the more energy used per time unit) "Better" can be subjective and in the eye of the beholder...some are after what is most reliable...others what has highest accuracy..some are looking for the closest match to the movement and details to the movement in the genuine watch being replicated.....generally one may say that in order of "better is" Swiss ETA >Chinese "ETA"/seagull > other Chinese movements (for the stander less complicated movements). However no rules are without exeptions.....in the end what matters is what is acceptable to you as the buyer In conclusion: It can hardly be called a rule or the complete truth but the more expensive the movement in a replica the more likely it is that the other parts of the replica watch are better as well. Other members might have their opinion on this worth listening too as well.
  9. Excellent question with no perfect answer Generally I would say that Asian is good enough (provided that the price is noticeable lower and that there are no faux complications) However if you get a well put together ETA (of the quality used in assembled watches in a swiss watch factory) it is much better Truth is that you will never know the quality of a movement in a replica until you have had it serviced and checked by an expert like The Zigmeister...sometimes ETAs (them be swiis or Asian made) of inferrior quality are used (inferrrior = substandard jewels, not or incorrectly oiled, poorly assembeled etc..) Go Asia go
  10. That is exactly how I picture him as well Hope to see him back online

  13. Yes! I have to admit that its a beauty
  14. TKK was "one who can be many places at once" Indeed, it appeared that the majority of people did not realise that to know the future (= to play it safe) is to be trapped by it. TTK could see that he would have to lead replica entusiasts onto a drastic course in order for it to escape its own annihilation (= boredom). As a result, he chose to escape the that path by allowing himself to be banned, so that he could walk into the desert and (however ereluctantly) not be a burden onto his tribe..... I dont think it is peace you sought or seek Neil...but rather a Valhalla is more suitable to your taste TTK...Odin (Óðinn,) waiting there for you warrior and man of battle..may your drinks be many and marry TTK 'What kind of a dream is it,' said Óðinn,in which just before daybreak, I thought I cleared Valhǫll,for coming of slain men? I waked the Einherjar, bade valkyries rise up,to strew the bench, and scour the beakers, wine to carry,as for a king's coming, here to me I expect heroes' coming from the world, certain great ones,so glad is my heart.
