  3. Lucky you :wub::wub::wub::wub:
  4. MMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmm......interesting indeed..... It seems the moonphase application is connected to the date...if so this is a great improvement over the often used 24hour connection (12h/24h indicator connection = actually a day/night indicator = faux moonphase) need more details....what is the movement used here? If it is this one its not much of an improvement : Movement: Asia Automatic 21Jewel Movement with Calender and Power Reserve Functions Functions: Hours, Minutes, Seconds ( 4.00 subdial) Date (8.00 subdial), Sun-Moon Phase, and Power Reserve indicator ( 10.00 Indicator Dial)

  6. This is very very interesting Reg Could you post some more information and details about these? I would like to know more Happy Timekeeping Gunnar
  7. How to Apologize . Use humor when appropriate. Some self-deprecating humor can break the tension and cause you both to laugh. I've found that drawing little cartoons of me and my mishap can instantly dissipate my wife's anger. Note that I said, when appropriate. If you cheated on your girlfriend, don't crack jokes or make cartoons about it. "And see in this panel, that's me making out with your best friend." Be sincere. This is the cardinal rule of apologies. An insincere apology is in some ways worse than no apology at all. The person's hurt over your offense will merely be compounded by their anger at your hypocrisy. An insincere apology may take the form of saying you're sorry but saying it in such a way that your lack of contrition is patently manifest. Another form is the famous "I'm sorry you're sorry" apology. This apology admits no fault but pretends like saying you're sorry that the person was hurt or is angry is still pretty big of you. Don't bother; it will make the person want to stab with you a trident. Take complete responsibility. Never, ever make any excuses while you're apologizing. They instantly ruin the weight and sincerity of your confession. Don't use any "buts." As in "I'm really sorry that happened, but…." A man takes full responsibility for his mistakes. Express your understanding of why you were wrong and the weight of your mistake. A person wants to know that you fully understand the seriousness of the situation, that you have thought through exactly why what you did was wrong and the full consequences of your actions. Nobody wants to hear an apology from someone who clearly doesn't know why they're in the wrong but feels like apologizing is what they're "supposed" to do. Offer to make restitution. This is a key part of the apology process. You should almost always offer to try in any way you can to make up for your misdeed. This obviously isn't always possible. If you break your wife's 5th generation family heirloom vase, you can't go to Target and buy a replacement. But if a situation can be fixed and rectified, that you should pledge to do whatever it takes to do so. Pledge better behavior in the future. Notice that I said pledge and not promise. While some would argue that if you're really sorry, you'll never make the same mistake again, our failings as human beings dictates otherwise. I might be truly sorry for losing my temper on someone, but I'm pretty sure that no matter how hard I try, it's probably going to happen again somewhere down the line. When you promise someone that something is never going to happen again, you're setting yourself up for a huge rift to develop if it does. The person will be justifiably doubly hurt, because after all, "You promised!" There are of course some things that you can be almost 100% sure you'll never do again, and if you feel absolutely confident in that, then make a promise. But generally you should simply pledge that you're going to be working hard on fixing whatever personality or behavioral faults led to your current offense. You can promise that you're going to be making an effort to change and turn things around. Prove your contrition with your actions. In the end, words will matter very little if your actions don't match them. After you've apologized, stop dwelling on it. Simply start acting in a way that demonstrates the sincerity of your apology. Move on. Once you've given your sincere apology, don't apologize again. Having you continually apologize may be what the offended party thinks they want from you and it may make them feel better in the short term. But in the long term, it's going to ruin the relationship. If you continue to grovel then you'll always be in the inferior position instead of having the person treat you like an equal. Deep down they won't be respecting you as a man. Either the person accepts your apology or they don't. If they do, then there's no need to keep groveling. If they don't, then the person doesn't trust you and the relationship has other problems that need to be fixed.
  8. There is lots of claims that the SEA-GULL M199s moon-phase chronograph is a true moon phase watch...and this is likely sporting the same movement as in some replicas (or at least another version of the same VENUS 175 based SeaGull movement)...I wonder is it really a true moonphase? ..as it is the closest one to the real-deal I have seen but details of the actual function of this moon-phase is still unclear
  9. http://www.prestiget...19-Movement.jpg Picture of a true moonphase movement Moonphase set inside the seconds sub-dial. The Moonphase differs from some Moonphase which advance once a day - this Moonphase is actually connected to the seconds hand & continuously advances to the tune of a full revolution per lunar cycle. Obviously we can not expect anything close to the accuracy in this Lange but again my questions are what is the best approximation available in replicas? and how many replicas are being adverted as moon phase but actually has both a sun and a moon on the moonphase dial? and other variants?
  10. So are there any true moon phase complications in replicas out there or not? What I would like the know is the following: 1. How many replicas described as having a moon phase actually have not only a moon but also a smiling sun on that revolving moon fase indicator (replies with pictures would be great) 2. How many replicas actually have two moons (no sun that is) on their revolving moon phase indicator? (pictures of these would be even better) 3. Are there any replicas with something close to a true moon phase? (For instance this is not good enough: ST1903 has 3 register, small seconds at 9, 30 min counter at 3. 24 h register at 6 (non chrono again), The 24h indicator is directly synchronized with main hour hand, either used as 24h indicator or with the hand replaced by a day/night disk as a faux moon phase - day night indicator) I have read that the ST1908: 4 register, small seconds at 9, 30 min counter at 3, date at 12, real moon phase is it a real moon phase? Happy Timekeeping Gran:drinks:
  11. Well maybe there is no smiling sun and thats truly great..maybe I was too harsh But regarding the moonphase mbjoer is not true that: "The 24h indicator is directly synchronized with main hour hand, either used as 24h indicator or with the hand replaced by a day/night disk as a faux moon phase - day night indicator." The ST1901 movement is nearly identical to the Venus 175 - parts are interchangeable. But the movement is not a copy or clone. It actually is the Venus 175, because Seagull has purchased the tooling from Venus in the early 1960ies. Seagull did copy the tooling to be able to produce at 2 locations. Differences or improvements to the Venus 175 are the increased beat (the Venus only had 18000 bph) and an added incabloc style shock absorber. As far as I know the movement comes in at least 6 variants: ST1901 2 register, small seconds at 9, 30 min counter at 3 (Ex Venus 175 - parts compatible, Venus parts can be used for repair) ST1902 3 register, small seconds at 9, 30 min counter at 3 12 h register at 6 (non chrono!), The 12h register's hand is directly geared to the main hour hand - bloody useless. See the "Schaferwatches" 3-register chrono, the 12h in the register is always in the same position as the main hour hand. ST1903 3 register, small seconds at 9, 30 min counter at 3 24 h register at 6 (non chrono again), The 24h indicator is directly synchronized with main hour hand, either used as 24h indicator or with the hand replaced by a day/night disk as a faux moon phase - day night indicator. ST1905 2 register, small seconds at 9, 30 min counter at 3 decentral power reserve at 4:30 (Plazeon chronos) ST1907 2 register, small seconds at 9, 30 min counter at 3 central power reserve indicator ST1908 4 register, small seconds at 9, 30 min counter at 3 date at 12 day/night window at 6
  12. Excellent first choice for a replica. The watch of a gentlemann! Happy timekeeping Gunnar Gran!
  13. Maybe one of the OMEGAs get the watch you like the most rather than the best imitation
  14. Wow! Its actually a bit masculine. maybe this is a CARTIER that could get some seruious wristtime (= not only for cocktail parties and the like)
  15. Super Truly great to hear that you have moved on to Genuines... ..even so I think having people that collect genuines on this board board is a big pluss and hope that you will continue here and post your genuines and tell us whats great about them all the best Gunnar:drinks:
  16. A must for am AP collector....but guess one could only wear it with something equally red....like a red sportscar
  17. I disagree. the movement is such an important issue . I seriously question if making replicas of such a complicated watch makes any sense at all. It looks good but everything else about the watch is a lie.. wearing such a watch with faux functions is no fun to me. would make me embarrased. Imagine meeting a true horologist wearing this thing and it turns out that the moon phase is a simple day night indicator..abdominal if its during the day time and a smiling sun appears.
  18. Nice:thumbsupsmileyanim: Love that snow and olympics coming up
