  1. Aye - I still have a tag that was apparently made from "Staimoss Steel"
  2. But who really cares? As long as those immigrants are working, and aspiring to something better, they're the type that every country would want. Its the cash-in-the-welfare-check-and-buy-Air-Jordans crowd (or the steal-the-Air-Jordans) that ruin communities. For the most part, I find the subcontinental (Indian, Pakistani, etc) immigrants in most countries to be diligent, hard-working, and always trying to move up in the world. Eg: Asians and Subcontinentals are disproportionately represented in top earning professions, and also in top universities, medical schools, top MBA programs, etc - its commonly known that they are subject to reverse racism in admissions processes. And these families usually immigrate here to escape bad or mediocre lives back home, so its not like they're coming with millions in the bank. Without any doubt there are a few nutters who are radical, but if you were to run with a stereotype for the typical South Asian, IMO it would be a positive one. Frankly, I'd rather have the aspirational guy with the 20 yr old BMW in my community, rather than the guy who thinks that *my* 3 yr old BMW would look nice in his garage, and steals to get it.
  3. Gorgeous watch - It bridges the gap between sporty and formal very well. I've been getting more into the PAM Rattrapantes; threads like yours are going to eventually force me to buy yet another PAM for my collection. Wear it well!
  4. First time I've liked a non-vintagized sub - good looking watch! Btw: is it just the pic or does the AR have a blue tint?
  5. Aye. Any belief (religion, racism, etc) that tells you that killing innocent individuals is acceptable, is a belief this world can do without.
  6. You'd be looking at the wrong group since the attacker was a blonde, blue-eyed, fundamentalist Christian. <edit: just scrolled down a bit and realized that you noted that later on>
  7. Any other good big egi homages out there? At $1369, This is pretty pricey.
  8. Cmon, it is a "Original Sea God Design". And a "Superlative" one at that. Those are pretty tough to find. (although this might make for a bi*ching gift for the ladyfriends)
  9. @Donerix - after all the info you've given me, its the least I could do. @PeteM - use the damned search function. You'd think after 3,500+ posts, you'd know how to do that. @Every One Else That Took The P*ss - SCR@W YOU, YOU BUNCH OF W@!KERS! KEEP YOUR OPINIONS TO YOURSELVES, YOU SONS OF #$%$!~! And for the 2 people that didn't, +1
  10. I'm a member of most other replica forums, and in terms of posts, more active on some others than I am here. Yet if you were to ask me which rep forum I consider home, I'd have to say it's RWG. I think more than anything else, its the quality and maturity of the members at RWG that appeals to me. Disagreements are treated respectfully and addressed as such, without resorting to ad hominem attacks. Obviously you still see good natured ribbing on RWG, but I rarely see insults directed at any member or any blatant flaming. Noobs are treated with respect and its rare to hear "We've already discussed this, so dont ask" (apart from the single posters with "is this a good watch to buy" questions). This is an awesome place to be, in great part due to the temperament and positive attitude of the members active here. "Fine watches, fine people" indeed... :drinks:
  11. So this guy created a trademark on a type of replica watch? Wonder how well that's going to hold up in court...
  12. Have them gingerly plucked by 17 Swedish blondes using only their teeth. Clearly I'm into weird sh*t.
  13. 111 (although get the newest H-factory version), but thats because I prefer steel to Ti for simple watches. Just looks sharper IMO.
  14. Very impressed by your second and third shots. Gorgeous pics of one of my favorite Brietlings! Weat it well
  15. I have the exact same problem. I have to wind my 359 to get it running. unfortunately, I know nothing about watch mechanisms, so would be very hesitant to use Ddc's suggestion :S If it helps, mine is VERY reluctant to rotate clockwise (if the watchback is facing me), but rotates freely counterclockwise. Not sure if you have the same issue, or even if thats normal!
  16. Thanks Watchmeister - I'm assuming that to visually inspect the movement, you have to be pretty good with movements. Its not somethign a novice could look at off the bat and tell if its been lubricated?
  17. I'm normally a buy-insurance kind of guy; for watches, that means servicing and my non-chrono movements are all swiss. However, watchsmiths where I am are hit or miss and aren't careful (scratching etc), so I prefer not to work with them unless necessary. Are there any warning signs that tell me when its time to get our reps serviced? Maybe jerkier movement of the hands or something? Or do watches tend to show no problems for ages while deteriorating inside, then stop completely? I'm having a really tough time deciding whether or not to service my collection of 10 watches, and I'd rather not unless necessary. Would love feedback from the knowledgeable members here
  18. LOL! Oh and she apparently likes Panerai now - kdspiv seems to be doing alright actually...
  19. Pam on a nato....Never seen that before, but i like!
  20. I love this watch - part of its charm IMO is the thickness and imbalance. Deviant from the rolex DNA while yet retaining enough aesthetically to be seen as a Rolex. Then and again, I like the PAM 359 too, which most risti despise.
  21. Stick to the trusted dealers on this forum and you should be fine. Hang around and you'll figure out what reps are good.
  22. Great watches and straps. Love the one on the 005; do you have any pics of that same strap on the 359 instead?
  23. Hi all - one of my A7750 movements has a little bit of an issue "waking up". It function perfectly otherwise, but it takes forever for the watch's power reserve to start up, unless I wind it by hand. Once its ticking though, it will continue for weeks if its on my arm. We all know that winding an A7750 isnt such a good idea, so I've taken to hacking the movement when I know I wont wear the watch for a few days so that the next time i do wear it, it'll be ready to go and wont need winding. Was wondering if this causes any damage to the watch, potentially drying out the oil inside or something? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks all!
  24. He isn't trusted here, but I've done business with him before and he came though with a great hbb with timely shipping. Just make sure the guy you're speaking to is named polo.
