  1. Oh wait, the postie just arrived...
  2. as usual with you LHOOQ, Gen I assume?
  3. what are the odds that after mentioning how I don't really see any, on my way home today at liverpool street I spot a pam infront of me on the tube. The guy he was with was wearing a rather shiny vintage sub on bond nato. Just wish I had my 1665 on the bond nato on. I would have given him his due props and we could have been watch buddies! although to be fair it (sub on bond nato) does look ridiculous with a suit. Alas, it was the day my stupid Stupid Avenger Skyland was in the rotation! edit:Lobster, was it you I saw?
  4. thanks, I always wondered what JV meant, and now I know!
  5. I've only seen one pam in the wild in central, and I'm there every day! And I check out pretty much everyone's wrist. Mostly I spot SMPs and subs. I don't think passe is the right word- maybe passe if you were trying to be a hipster of the watch world. Passe to me means out of fashion, but seeing them all around is surely not passe but in vogue? I actually think they are becoming passe in the sense that smaller watches are very much in vogue now.
  6. check amazon. they even have free shipping with prime!
  7. UPO for the last day of the championship.
  8. UPO for the last day of the championship.
  9. why not take it to an AD to be 100% sure?
  10. From what I hear, the Clark is pretty far off in terms of clarity And the dome. If I was doing a budget build I'd go for a cheaper gen t39 service replacement. Check out vintagerolexforum for parts etc. Or you can wait till a Franken comes up for sale - it will probably cost less if the work is already done. I have a 1665 incoming with the pt case, The Zigmeister dial and hands, gen crown, tube, springbars, and crystal (superdome, not service replacement), and the correct 93150 bracelet with 580 endlinks, and a slowbeat eta movement with silver datewheel.
  11. Oh yeah I'd love a good jlc Polaris, master compressor and reverso.
  12. Royal mail is far far superior to most other post offices (as hard as that is to hear)
  13. Usual suspects... Contemporary BP fifty fathoms, ap diver, non chrono aquatimer etc etc
  14. I tried loctite, but when I close the lever one side or another just goes out from the case a little, so it is imperfect and wobbly. Worst comes to worst I can send it back to the dealer and he will try and get the factory to fix it.
  15. Hey guys, I unscrewed the CG on my 177l to grease the crown gasket. However, when I went to reattach the CG, the screws just turn and turn with no resistance, as if the threading in the case is no longer there. Is there any way to fix this without buying another case?
  16. ooh donerix had to list his 5510 today and make me seriously think about spending waaay more than i should. Thanks for recs guys, 3717 it is i guess!
  17. The black saint! I guess that makes me the sinner lady. Which one would you keep? If you could only keep one.

  19. Hey guys, I want to buy an IWC rep. I was thinking either a 3717, Big Pilot, or an Ingy. To be honest, they are all amazing designs. Maybe I should tell you about my other watches so we can see what is a good fit? I have a vintage omega deville (quartz- very very small and thin, with a lovely shiny bracelet, very dressy), a RG oris artellier(pretty small, and thin, brown croc strap), the pam 177h (on nato, maybe a dirk soon), Grey v3 Avenger Skyland(i have rubber and ss) and a Black/white 45mm UPO(on nato/rubber). So really I don't need a dressy, or another big sports watch I guess. But the ingy is so beautiful! It's dressy but tooly at the same time. And recently i've taken to wearing watches on the inside of my wrist, so it would be perfect. But finding a good rep is difficult- did the gen have a display caseback? and i hear a new datewheel is needed? How bad is the rep dw? and the SS strap is a rarity now? BP- Nothing really to say about this model, apart from it's fricking huge and i'd have to get the pr indicator moved to full and the lume is wrong. And I already have big watches in the skyland and the pam. I do love it though- the 5004 is so nice to look at. Really i'd have to buy a HKTAN real croc strap, so I can double the price of this rep for me. I really doubt I can wear this on my inner wrist. 3717- Great watch. With the steel strap it's the perfect balance between sports and fancy. Although is the lume correct? if was to get this i'd ideally have the day wheel switched to a german one. However, there are opportunities for frankens further down the road if I choose so. Not really sure if i want another chrono watch though. So if you were to buy one of these IWC without the possibility to be buying another, which would it be? I also have the dsn Tornek Rayville or Fifty Fathoms LIP model on the shortlist.
  20. If he can do one sans gen movement and case I think I might just be able to afford one. This watch is an inner wrist piece IMO. It's truly a unsung design classic, congrats on the piece. Wear it well.
  21. How much does one of these babies cost? If you don't mind me asking
