i think the problem with these mbw/k cases and copies thereof are the hev valve that needs to be marine epoxied shut. at least this is the problem on my 1665.

I have these 2 huge bags of silica gel that came with a computer, they use it to keep moisture out of electronics in transit. I pop the back off and put the watch in a drawer with the baggies.

It's a nickel plated 2486 iirc, the slowbeat one. I've never seen rep 'swiss' nickel plated movements. I don't know much about the datewheel, apart from the 3s and 6s are correct; if that's something PT did then it may very well be the PT datewheel, as I think the case came from him. The Members from whom the watch came from are fairly highly regarded, so it's unlikely it (the crown) was mis-sold to me. Also, the coronet is perfect, and the crown/tube gasket system is exactly like the gen, and it opens and closes perfectly. Thanks for your concern though . There is texture to the lume, but it's not too much. When I fish out the proper camera I can take some macro shots, and shots of the clasp and endlinks of course (they are rep btw). Some member here has a vintage piece on a black stingray. It looks very good in deed. And if they weren't so damn endangered I'd love a great White strap for my great White, but the moral and ethical cost is far to much for me to consider this.

Yes, the superdome gives the watch a quality that is very difficult to capture in pictures. Not just the dome, but the clarity of the acrylic.

hey, has anyone ever ran into one of these? it's a strap that is obviously made out of leather, with stitches 'n all but there is some very soft rubber coating that makes it completely waterproof and very soft. I really want one.

hehe i never understood the obsession with premium cables for a digital signal. As long as the 1s and 0s get through the signal is as good as it will ever be. of course, you know this analogue speaker cables and bi-wiring though...

hmm i hear better stuff can be had at the same price as these monster products Having said that, I am using klipsch x1's (£20 on amazon) mostly now (portability purposes) and they sound great to me. The bass was a little sloppy, but now after maybe 100 hours of use it's tight and they sound wonderful. The soundstage is better than my shure e4c! More comfortable than my beyers- and the isolation is amazing. Plus, when inserted they sit flush with my ear, so I can lie on my side in bed with them and not notice them. at xmas there was a semi-hidden page on the monster website that was selling overstock at cost- iirc the most expensive headphone was around $40- some guy on a music tracker I am a member of bought like 10 pairs and flipped them for a very tidy profit. I suppose all that really matters is if you were willing to pay and are happy, and you were and are on both counts, so Mazel tov on the new phones
