  1. A pre owned datejust will always stand the test of time. Classic look and will hold it's value, if not appreciate. If Rolex isn't your thing my next choice would be an Omega.
  2. Hmmm, Let me think............. This one is nice. This one I'm wearing today (no it is not for sale but if you can find one buy it!!!) Or if you need super bling.........Go for one of these from ioffer BTW, nice watch Narikka. I have been thinking about one of these as well. Or if you want some bling you can wear every day, go for one of the ultimate Breitling Evolutions with the diamond bezel. Subltle, but enough bling to get you noticed.
  3. I went to the West Palm Beach antique and watch/jewelry show this weekend. Stopped by a booth with a really nice older gentelman who had a good selection of vintage Rolex and other brands. i came close to buying a solid gold 1950's Doxa with fancy lugs but thought the $575 price tag was a bit high (anyone correct me if I'm wrong and made a big mistake leaving it there). While I was droolin, er browsing the cases a man walked up with a vintage Omega Seamaster with a silver pie pan dial he was looking to sell. I overheard the conversation and the dealer called someone to verify authenticity. The dealer passed and said something wasn'r right. I looked at the watch and it looked good to me. the finishing was that of a genuine watch. The dealer proceeded to tell me that the caseback had the Seamaster dragon logo inserted in gold. When the logo on the back was gold the indices sould have been gold as well, but on this one they were silver along wityh the dial. The dealer then proceeded to tell me that there were a lot of high end vintage Seamaster fakes coming out of South America. I mentioned to him that i thought all reps came out of Asia. He said "no only the rolexes come from china. South america is a huge manufacturer". Now I think to myself this guy has no idea what he is talking about, but also that it is his business to know. Is he just misinformed or are there actually high end reps coming from South America? Are we missing something? If that Omega was a rep, I would buy one in a second. has anyone else seen a 1:1 replica of a 1950's Seamaster pie pan dial?
  4. Saw this in the local paper. Wonder how the ribs taste? Mmmmmmm ribs. Hogzilla
  5. 100% correct!!! The US government has been putting preasure on the asian countries to clean up their act in regards to intellectual property. I would venture to guess this is part of a sweep aimed at keeping diplomatic relations with the US positive. I'm sure the government over there could really give a [censored], but they have to throw Bush a bone until it blows over. Just like in the HBO series "The Wire". They had to show "dope on the table"..........................
  6. How about RWGEO Or FreemanEO.................... I think Romeo is over used in too many items. REO sounds pretty good. Short and sweet watch names are the best. Also names that are acronyms or initials sound catchy. Also names that are spelled unphoenetically (if that's a word) like Xemex. How about Xeneo. BTW, how are you going about launching this new brand? Do you have plenty of money behind you?
  7. That is a lot of traffic. clear contact us form and prompt return of questions always helps convert. Prices also must be competetive. Good pictures and descriptions. It's all in the content. I have a strong background in web marketing for several of my own businesses. I have learned not to cut corners. Also keep in mind watch customers are very picky and demanding. They want details.
  8. No worries about buyers from this collector. He is in another country. Surely interpol will not form an international manhunt to track down customers. Shame to hear that though. Hope nothing comes of it. Does anyone know what kind of penalties are probable?
  9. Nice for something you just whipped up out of spare materials............. You have some good sewing skills there.
  10. That's how much I pushed all in at the Borgata poker table this weekend.
  11. Yes they are quite funky watches and I came close to buying one several years ago, but it is that love it or hate it styling. None of them ever jumped out and me enough that i had to have it. that's why cell phones have the time on them.
  12. I'd give them a little more credit than that. I think Brooks Brothers is a bit more moderatley priced than IWC comparatively.
  13. It looks like a fairly decent dial. Alain silberstein runs very limited editions so it is hard to find this exact model in genuine. There are definatley flaws. Which I cannot say, but how many people have ever heard of this band anyway?
  14. BAJONKA BAJONKA!!!! Where you been Oakland? I've been waiting for an opportunity to say that.........
  15. Crazier thing have happened. I sold a Rado diastar like the one pictured on ebay a couple of years ago. Bought it in a pawn shop for $50.00 and had talked the guy down from $80.00. This is probably the ugliest watch ever mass produced and had no box or papers but I couldn't resist. The pawn shop owner looked relieved that someone had bought this monstrosity. After a few months I decided to put it on ebay for $50.00 no reserve. It got bid up over $500 and the buyer left me positive feedback I would be [censored]. A second watch I sold was a Universal Geneve Ca. 1960's solid 14K porcelin dial with romans and hand wind. The dial had a noticable hairline but was a nice looking watch. I bought it on ebay for under $200. Sold it a couple months later on ebay $200 no reserve auction for over $700. Go figure.
  16. Yes that is one ugly watch. I did see the new full gold gmt at the AD last week. That is a nice looing watch with a diamond dial, lugs and crown guards along with diamond and sapphire bezel.
  17. Hello, welcome and be assured noone will be angry if you post some nice pics of those genuine watches in the eyecandy section
  18. June is the Robb Report "Best of the Best" issue. Got it in the airport on my way to Atlantic City this weekend. Has all the best for the luxury lifestyle. Best wines, liquor, clothes and a whole section on the best watches of the year. AP, Hublot, Patek and many others are represented as you can imagine. Great reading for those who are interested. Robb Report
  19. Saw high stakes poker over the weekend and noticed Sammy Farha with a new Ice bang. I have seen him with several Big Bang versions. Lots of poker players (including myself) love the bling...
  20. Ooh, ooh, ooh, I know................................................. Panerai!!!
  21. This is really a simple thing and being that i am a nit picking watch collector I noticed that when you click on a link in a post in now takes you that page in the same window if it is a link to another post in the forum. The outside links still open in a separate window, but is there any way to make all links open in a new window without right clicking? Is it my browser setting or the board setting. I apologize for this post but it is annoying me.
  22. I think this has been done before. A while ago I had been offered a two tone replica with a genuine serti dial from a very reputable dealer/watchmaker and he said the dial fits no problem. I think he just cut off the feet where to do it right you can buy some feet and attach them in the correct position.
  23. is the mall as big as the one in Vegas? I love Caesars!!!
  24. Just shows how most separate business from pleasure. I miss River. He always posted pics of some new toys he got for himself.
