I had a guy once tell me that my GENUINE vintage day date was a rep because the second hand didn't sweep smooth. I have also had people swear their sub was real because of the sweeping second hand. I have had people ask me about my IWC Ingy chrono and say "nice watch. Is that an expensive brand?" I have a business associate who wears a 1990's two tone gen sub every day. The thing is awfully beat up. The crystal is even fogged and the dial is damaged. I told him to take it to my guy and he will make it look like new. Jim tells me "who gives a [censored] it's only a watch" We too often loose sight that we are in the .00099 percentile of the general population who still believe a Movado is a "good watch" to buy as a keepsake. ignorance is bliss.

I don't have one, but some watches don't have a screw down crown. It has nothing to do with the movement.

Any updates on this? I am getting impatient and have money burning a hole in my pocket

I have the samsung d-807 which i think has that feature. This site is great because you don't have to take up memory on your phone with and entire mp3. It will let you take any part of the file, up to 20 seconds worth, and send it to your phone. If you want to loop just one verse, word, or bar you can do that.

Last night on Entourage I saw a lot of great watches. It always annoy my girl when i point it out but here goes. Ari was wearing his usual Roger Dubuis. Johhny Drama appeared to have a Franck Muller. It looked like Eric traded his Daytona for an IWC ? (i could be wrong). Looked like Joe the producer had a SS Hublot big bantg on a bracelet. The best thing I saw last night was The watch Turtle was wearing. It was big and gold with a blue dial and oddly shaped. This watch was off the hizzzy. Nice to see something other than a Jacob on his wrist. Does anyone know what kind of watch he was wearing? I have no idea. Looked reminicent of a Mauboussen, but I have never seen that shape.

I have always looked for the best quality reps I could find. The super reps have just made the search a little easier. I do find myself wearin Rolex less and moving more towards other brands. My collection has become more diversified and this is good.

One of my business associates just came into my office. I have known him for several years. He owns two businesses (one of which is a franchise from me) and makes good money. He is a conservative guy. Wears t shirt and jeans every day. He has two Mercedes and has never had a decent watch as long as I have known him. I look over and see a really bad Rolex Sub. Very weak date mag, old style end links that don't even fit to the case, horrible dial and maybe a 3 tick per second auto movement. I say to him "new watch"? He says "yeah. I'll tell you the truth its a knock off. You can't tell though right?" So I say "yeah nobody knows the difference." And I show him my two tone black dial daytona with cz hour markers (really a good rep from paul with solid gold mid links and all the new bells and whistles.) He says "that's a nice watch" I say "I got a guy in china that gets all the best stuff" We get to talking and he wants a gold yachtmaster. I tell him he'd be better off with a SS one so he says order it for me and I'll pay you whatever it is. So off I go to order him a watch. I think I'll start him off with a good asian movement yacht for around $100. He doesn't know but this will be a gift from me. The first one is always free hehe.......

How'd ya'll no I live in Polk counna? No seriously, that wasn't funny. True about natural vegitation burning off but this area of Florida is supposed to be wetlands. Lake Okeechobee is lower than ever. We have had no rain and it is may. I don't know if it is media hype, but the news is saying a lot of the fires have been started by people being careless and not natural causes. They just get out of hand quicker with no rain and dead grass. I hope this doesn't mean a bad hurricane season. i can't deal with another one. Last time I was ready to move.

I just spoke to the ghost of fliplockbuckle. He said to take a crowbar and a blow torch to the movement along with a pair of vice grips. A rubber mallet couldn't hurt either. Make sure the whole assembly is held down with a hockey puck and a vise. I never get tired of that.
