Very noble cause. I have several friends who have or had cancer. A couple that didn't make it, two that beat it, and one fighting. You can count on me for a little donation.

I know you have an EVO, but my vote would be another one. I have the Two tone Blue dial and I can't stop saying wow!!! Other than that i could tell you to go for a day date in SS with the glacier blue dial and roman #'s. Either that or an all gold Breitling Bentley.

Saw this today. It seems like every time I step outside I smell BBQ. This is really horrible. People have to stop tossing cigarette butts and being careless. These fires are all burning now and continue to spread. If this continues there will be no more Florida.

Do you tell people at work that you are wearing reps?
jfreeman420 replied to Jawo's topic in General Discussion
I thought I was the only one who talked to my cat. Glad to see I'm not alone. I do get some funny looks when I talk to the squirrels outside my office though. -
Maybe, Maybe not but who cares. Everyone knows what the dealers were misrepresenting and they have fixed their desciptions on new models. If the dealers continue this behavior it will surface again. There wouldn't be any benefit to the board. This is not the first time the dealer section has been removed and it wont be the last. You think too much.

Does anyone have a BCE with the cz bezel that is tired of the bling? I have the two tone version and apparently they wont sell me a bezel separately. If anyone wants to swap the cz bezel for an all SS one I wil pay for fedex overnight shipping BOTH ways. You would keep the 12, 3, 6 and 9 markers along with the ss screws and we would both have what we want. Help the king of bling get his evo blinged out. I would even be willing to throw a crisp $20 bill into the deal.

The Double red sea dweller stopped production around 1977. I also believe the steve mcqueen Explorer II fits into that era.

The watch probably works fine. It either has a short power reserve or you haven't wound it enough during the day. Try manually winding it with the crown about 50 or so times.

What is your biggest complaint about Reps?
jfreeman420 replied to Jawo's topic in General Discussion
Biggest complaint, is that they are not genuine!!! Seriously, I have owned too many replica watches to count and I can say I really don't have any complaints. The only problem I have had is with a few movements so that is what i voted for. I buy reps for the novelty, design and value. Lets face it you get what you pay for. If I spend $200 to $300 on a watch (of any kind) and it lasts for a year or more I have gotten my money's worth. Most of my reps have lasted a year or years so I can't complain. I have also spent $10,000 on a Rolex and sold it six months later. Can't stand to have that much money tied up in one watch too long. -
Any mechanical reliability update from Portu Chrono Owners?
jfreeman420 replied to crystalcranium's topic in The IWC Area
I have the ingenieur (still not sure how to spell it) chrono which has the same movement. Running fine now since november. -
Do you tell people at work that you are wearing reps?
jfreeman420 replied to Jawo's topic in General Discussion
My secretary always gives me a smirk when a package arrives. Everyone always wants to know what i bought now. I agree that peope are always facinated with good quality reps. One of my colleagues just bought a gen 18K yachtmaster. I was wearing my trusty YG day date and we got to talking. I told him it was a rep and he said I never would have guessed. That must be a good one. I have no problem telling people when i am wearing a rep. My collection always has a couple gens on rotation as well. -
You are correct. Not my style, however I did pick up this version of the Atomic watch on woot. A little more bling and such a deal at $25.00. I use this to set my horribly innacurate $300 +++ automatic watches
-
I wouldn't buy that watch for $200.................. But fugly.
-
For those who are interested two Atomic watches for $19.95 Woot!

That is what I hae been waiting for!!! Any idea if there will be a bracelet version made?

@ Oakland: You may be a newb, but with an avatar like that you are all right in my book. Maybe part of the introductory rules for newbies should be to choose a cool avatar that everyone can enjoy. Just like Oakland. I'd like to honk your avatar. I hope not. Just wish you had more posts................. I need help. Where's my Zoloft?

My vote is still the gold blinged out one of course. I can talk about this watch all day. And in many threads as you can see. And yes, I agree that mellow yellow is horrible. looks like a swatch. Unfortunate it is the most accurate big bang with the proper rear engravings.

I heard he shattered his 52nd genuine crystal using his Hyundai to roll over it in order to press it in firmly. A piece of sapphire flew out from under the wheel and gashed his cornea. half blinded FLB was running around in circles when he tripped over the torque wrench he used to tighten the caseback of his genuine submariner. He fell backwards into his tool bench and got a 10 inch machete he used to remove bezels gouged deep into his spine. Rest in peace Fliplockbuckle. You will always be remembered as the Rube Goldberg of watchmaking.................

I disagree. Isn't this guy being a little hypocritical? First he says the forum is stagnant. It is anything but. There are hundreds of posts every day. Second we all have a bad attitude. Well, your attitude isn't so great either. Go troll somewhere else. I wish it had that affect. Then I wouldn't be reading your drivel.

I talk to him all the time and so can you here: GOD here is my conversation with him today:

You are in a world of stubborn, picky, strong minded and as pugwash reminded me arrogant people. People who obsess ove a .1mm difference in size and minute details that 99.9999% of the world wouldn't even notice. It is not for the faint of heart or those without a thick skin to absorb lashings. You can have a great experience and learn a lot if you can see past the people not giving you the warmest fuzzies. Ironically enough, this is the way most of the real world is. I deal with people like myself and others here on a daily basis in my business. Personalities clash and opinions differ. Who are you to come in and mock and ridicule a forum of thousands of members when you have been here for a month and a half? i am insulted. I believe if you ask a stupid question you get a stupid answer. If you coddle people by holding their hand every time they want to find the best replica this or that we may as well just be an unpaid customer service line for all the dealers. Sorry if my view is too cynical for you but I am a realist, not an idealist like yourself. No, I usually give them the finger and tell them to get out of the left lane. If you are going to drive 30 mph on I-95 stay in the right [censored] lane or get run over (get the metaphor?)

This is the same test that jewelers and pawn shops use. The acid breaks down the gold to determine it's content. The gold plating proces changes the molecular structure of the gold thus having a different effect with the acids. There is no gold plating that will test positive for real gold no matter how thick.

To all dealers! Do you have the perfect Cartier?
jfreeman420 replied to vmena's topic in General Discussion
Since the introduction of the Santos 100 Cartier has introduce several different sizes. My jeweler had the 38mm version on this weekend and it was sharp. They also have a 40mm version that I would be interested in on a bracelet. Dealers what do you say? -
Oh, I understand. I have lost two pair of genuine cartier gold and wood eyeglasses that way. Prescription lenses too. But i never take my watch off in public.
-
Wow, that is amazing. How did the watch get too far down to save? Was it pre or post flush? Number one or two? What would make you not stick your hand in the toilet to retrieve a $3,000 watch? If you buy the 100 44mm version it wouldn't fit down the toilet ... I had a gen two tone chronoflex perpetual calender and all. Great watch. I know what you mean by the smoothness. It's all about fit and finish. No sharp edges. A bracelet that flows without kinks and an overall silky smooth feel.
