  1. Acquired this gen PAM 28A case set several months ago, and after having lukewarm results trying to sell it, I've decided to build it up and keep it for awhile. I found a rep donor for the dial, movement and caseback. The final ingredient, a gen crown, should arrive sometime next week. T's 48 was ordered as back up. The pic is a little toward the blue side as I shot in the shade. The gen case is more of a neutral, dark grey graphite. It's not nearly as black looking as the current PVD reps I've come across. 2. Yikes... talk about eye candy... Your passion is undeniable my friend! Robert in SoCal
  3. Okay now... this is a little bit from left field I admit. But I think it has some interesting possibilities. The case set is a gen shadow case for a PAM 233 and similar to the black ceramic 317. Therefore I'm starting with having it DLC'd (pic is just after it was prepped and bead blasted). There is a 233 rep but obviously the movement ain't 8-day. So this will be a fantasy project for now until the day comes someone actually does a great 233 rep/movement. So any suggestions for dial and movement combos will be welcome! To bad Angelus movements are so rare... I could see one in there with nice rhodium plated bridges. This case set was another lucky find... thank you eBay! Robert in SoCal
  4. This is good news... I have a project that is waiting for this final "ingredient". Robert in SoCal
  5. Generally I'm not a Nato strap guy, but the greenish grey looks great with your Blacksteel. Can' wait to see one of these watches in the metal. Robert in SoCal
  6. The 1st pic is spot-on! Your vintage lume work is indeed amazing... Robert in SoCal
  7. I agree with The Zigmeister... especially his last sentence! Robert in SoCal
  8. This is frustrating... the next time I travel I'm bringing a couple of my unfinished projects with me to mess with. I would have the crown fitment issue settled in a matter of minutes. It's 12 degrees outside where I'm visiting and not much else to do for the next several days. Robert wishing I was back in SoCal
  9. Guess I need to clarify. I fitted the T48 just before heading out of town and haven't tried the SS T48 on my Jimmy case. On the gen case there was no wiggle as the crown slipped over the outer part of the case tube perfectly. However I didn't look to see if there was a gap between the ID of the case tube and the OD of the most extended part of the crown. Will post my findings when I get back Mon. evening. OR I could call my wife back @ home and run her through the T48 fit test... on second thought... Robert in SoCal
  10. Whew... that brown dial looks great... what a combination. It's got me thinkin' again. Robert in SoCal
  11. A gen 177H just sold at Paneristi for $3000 USD complete with boxes and papers. This is a great time to buy used gen. I came upon mine by chance and spending too much time patrolling eBay. Robert in SoCal
  12. Glad to be of service! Can't wait to see it in the metal. Robert still pledging in SoCal
  13. Those pics are very hard to look at... and I mean that in a good way! A definite stunner! Robert in SoCal
  14. Man oh man am I happy with T's ti crown! Obviously I need to size the stem, but the crown fit right onto the gen tube/case set with zero gaposis. Case set/back is a PAM 56 with a std. gen ti cg (probably will never find the destro version). Now looking for the best rep brown dial to finish it off for now. Robert in SoCal

  24. Guess you missed my attempt at dry humor... just as many of us missed yours. Nothing you have listed is a true measure of real success. Strip away those "thangs" and what are you left with(?) I know several a-holes married to beautiful women with hearts of gold (if their wives didn't have hearts of gold they would have probably left their husbands long ago). I also know several a-holes with very successful businesses (chewed up and spit out a lot of the competition... not be confused with survival of the fittest, burned a lot of bridges in the process and have high employee turn-over). And me?... I thought this thread was about you. Robert... enough said in SoCal
