  1. I think the shine may be more of a result of age and years of rubbing and oil build-up (the gen forums are adamant about NOT cleaning aged PVD cases) ... probably similar to what some people are looking for when they CapeCod their PVD cases. Robert in SoCal
  2. Here you go... gen 28A case in warm late-afternoon light and cooler early-morning light. Quick pics, so focus is a bit off. I'll try some other lighting situations as the finish changes in almost every room. Robert in SoCal
  3. The T60 crown looks like it belongs there. Good job! Robert in SoCal
  4. Thanks for posting! Haven't pulled the trigger on a Breitling yet, but your pics have pushed me off the fence. I gotta have this one. Robert in SoCal
  5. What you've done with these 2 pieces is amazing. I have a strong liking for power-reserves and these 2 REALLY make the grade... good job sss! And the pics are excellent as well. Robert in SoCal
  6. I'll see the original owner this weekend at our local GTG and try to find out more info on the dial. I have received several PM's asking me specifically about the dial. Robert in SoCal
  7. Here's a link to the build... http://repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=34646&highlight=dlc Robert in SoCal
  8. Here's a quick pic of the caseback... OP # should be 6519, but I don't think davidsen offers one. Robert in SoCal
  9. It's actually a much more durable coating... DLC. It was done by Forum member Avitt who offers the service. Highly recommended. I have yet to see any recent PVD coatings that come even close. The finish is way more durable and is quite beautiful in person, Robert in SoCal
  10. It' in a shadow... check out the 2nd pic in my OP. These coatings do strange things in different lighting situations. But the match between the cg and case is perfect. Avitt does amazing DLC finishes. Robert in SoCal
  11. It's a great rep for sure... the previous owner put together an amazing combination of mods. Found this gen pic of the same model @ RG which happened to be shot at a similar angle as one of my rep pics... notice the "L SWISS L" spacing and size is spot-on as well as most of the #'s. Robert in SoCal Gen Rep
  12. My latest purchase and my first PVD (DLC)... can't stop wearing it!
  13. Good thread choice... the overall look is perfect! Robert in SoCal
  14. First wristi pic. The previous owner did an amazing job with this piece... the C/CG combo is perfection. Robert
  15. Thanks! The one thing that bugs me is that I'm use to having more detail in the highlights. This p and s blows them out too easily, but hey, for the cost I ain't complaining. Robert in SoCal
  16. Got my first point and shoot today (have always been anchored down by studio cameras). Haven't read the manual yet, but it's pretty much typical Canon intuitive. So once I got into macro mode it was time for the first test shots. Put on the new Simona and liked the results on full auto. Robert in SoCal
  17. An amazing finish... I didn't know that you can change the tint of a PVD coating. That opens up so many possibilities. Robert in SoCal
  18. Great post! and good timing as I have the same FGD dial coming my way and a Jimmy case... just hadn't decided what to do with either as they were purely "opportunity" purchases. Your post made my decision easy. Thanks! Robert in SoCal
  19. This is what I used to wear on weekends... in memoriam... my beloved Ennebi. Robert in SoCal
  20. Here we go again... I was late for work this morning when I saw this project at RG and could not stop looking at it AND now it's here and I'll probably be late for my 5 o'clock class. Robert in SoCal
  21. Yikes, are you sure that's not a bunch of green LED's??? Robert in SoCal
  22. Hey Bazz... your 187 looks great. 2004 was a special year for Panerai's Special Edition Submersibles. Robert in San Diego
  23. Going back and forth between these 2 new acquisitions this weekend... 002D and 6152. Robert in SoCal
  24. Very, very nice! It's definitely got "The Pre V Look". Robert in San Diego
