  1. thanks for all the support guys! very kind words! In terms of price, i haven't had anything structured up and i dont think i can put myself anywhere near Rob (The Zigmeister) and Joe (RBJ) as they have alot more experience in repairs and mods. But i'm more than happy to hear what you would like me to do and see if i can do it for you! At the moment, complete overhaul with oiling will start at $60AUD (usual watchmaker charges start at $110) - includes cleaning, re-oiling and re-greasing of parts and reassemble. I'm going to stick with local work for now as its quicker for the australians here and safer in terms of customs. Non-working watches will be inspected and parts will be replaced if needed. I will be getting parts from Smith and Smith and one other source in sydney. As with Modifications, I'm only geared to work with Omegas at the moment, as i have played with far too many omegas so i have alot of experience in what to do and which parts needs to be done. But in terms of re-working the crown guards and oiling and polishing the bracelet, i can extend that to Rolex and Tags. Also, crystal replacing is also available as I work part time at a watchstore so i have access to pressure testing and crystal press. Thanks again for all your welcome and i'll get some photos up soon! regards, Mboy
  2. Ok everyone! If some of you guys remember from before, I'm doing watchmaking at a tertiary institute in Sydney, Australia. Now after 3 months of study, by the way, i've been doing accelerated so i can do more than usual, i've gotten to a stage where i feel quite confident with servicing movements. Just completely overhauled 2 ETA 2836s, 1 Original Tag heuer Quartz and 2 Original Omega 1120 (ETA 2892). Brought it in to the head teacher to inspect and had them regulated as well. So I'm quite pleased with the results. So hoping to have some support from the Admins here on this board, I hope to extend the number of repairers/mods on this board, especially since we've been missing one in Australia. Also, as some of you guys already know, I do alot of Omega Modifications and have 2 more projects on the way - GMT and Speedmaster Automatic. Please let me know what you guys think of my proposal, especially the guys from australia! and Admins - kenny and offshore!
  3. looks like a intermediate setting wheel. cant be certain though. Do you have trouble setting time and winding?
  4. NOPE I showed my right foot who's boss!
  5. is it a bergeon? there are alot of cheap rolex openers which dont seem to work.
  6. u guys make good points. I also have a Omega GMT and yes, the hour hand can be set which jumps hour at a time. But i have something that i've wanting to ask for so long, and this topic seems about right to do so...hehe ok, you all have stated that the 2893 has the GMT hand which jumps a hour at a time when we set it. Can we not just make the hour hand sit on the "GMT wheel" and have the GMT hand sit on the "Hour wheel"? obviously we need to re-adjust the hand size for both but wouldn't that technically get rid of this little issue? Because this way, wouldnt the hour hand be adjustable now? and it will jump hour at a time? and since the hour wheel and GMT wheel all run in sync when not in setting mode, that should solve it shouldn't it?
  7. @ R11co, i'm glad you and I are on the ball with this one, i've never seen any dealer carrying this model, and it looks of high quality too, except for the pearl! but too expensive
  8. look at this link ok, remember it! because if another person ask if there is a Midsize SMP, you will point them to this like i have with you! Midsize SMP looks like a decent replica, its a tad expensive though.
  9. hey good work! one question, what colour is it when its not shining like a torch?? as in what colour are the dial indices and hands in daylight? thanks mate!
  10. Genuine Omegas SMPs have domed crystal but AR coated. The replica ones - except for the omega bond SMP (both non limited and limited) all have domed crystals without AR coating. So distortion is very evident. Only the BOND SMPs has the AR coating and looks like the gen thing.
  11. I second this comment! lucky ur watch is still ticking mate!
  12. granny baby... please post pictures of your railmasters!! would love to see them!
  13. clean it first and glue it back on, no problems with that. Use either 2 part epoxy or loctite, I'm not sure about superglue but i think it should also work. (i've only used 2 part epoxy and loctite) good luck
  14. ahh doesnt the 5517 have FIXED LUG SPRINGS? how can you get the bracelet to fit? if you have a way, please share it with me, as i can't figure it out :S
  15. you know what, i saw one! OMEGA SEAMASTER PROFESSIONAL VERSION MID SIZE, with ETA 2824 movement too. check out this link! ioffer link
  16. thats a nice one Gran! thick crystal! DAMNNNN!!!!!
  17. Look dude, you have asked about dealer's website in more than 3 threads now and i'm telling you right now its getting annoying. if you go to the dealers section you will find the dealers, in their own forum they have their websites listed on the bottom of their messages, if there is no website listed then they don't have one. SIMPLE?
  18. HAHAHa nice one ken! personal experience i'm assuming.....?
  19. for $30? hard to believe, he prolly got fooled again. LOL
  20. the movement in your picture is a standard ETA 21 jewel movement. I dont quite understand when you say "doesn't need to be kept in with a plastic ring", none of the ETAs are kept in plastic rings. In addition, plastic or metal rings are just what they are, MOVEMENT holders, they can be made out of titanium if you want, its all cosmetics. hope clears it up for you.
  21. i see what you are saying. If you were to purchase the non-limited edition seamaster, you would get the one that you want, i.e the 8th pic down. But if you were to purchase the limited edition one, you would get the limited edition caseback, which has the 007 gun logo and stuff on it. hope this helps.
