  1. I thought she was part of the cartel too?
  2. The price of ceramic is inflated by dealers.... how can a full ceramic Gucci with quartz cost $125 otherwise? The other alternative is that it is NOT full ceramic and steel coated with ceramic.
  3. The main OS's for "smartphones" seem to be Symbian, Windows Mobile and Apple's OS. I heard at the start of the year there would be some update to the Symbian OS but haven't kept up with it. After I got Mobitubia, Fring and Opera installed, I haven't had time to look at the newer things that are out. I saw some videos of Doom being played on an n95 with the accelerometer - hooked up via the TV out to the TV. Not bad.... and Monkey Island too!
  4. I'm guessing this has a slide out keyboard or a touchscreen? My sister has a HTC but doesn't use it, preferring to use the blackberry-type device instead... or even more, the laptop. How is this one for browsing and mailing?
  5. Personally, I am happy with the Nokia n82's music playback... and I don't really like the iTunes software... as well as being able to carry micro SDHC cards full of 8-16gb worth of music. I also have GPS... The thing that interests me mainly is the email and browsing functionality... maybe I should get a laptop instead!
  6. He has an assistant who will help an take your order and let you know how long it will take.
  7. The reviews I've read have said that... I'm more inclined to take your word for it from real world experience. At the moment work is 10-15 mins from home, but things will change. I guess I've really got to get one for a test run and see if I like it.
  8. Push email would be nice... a luxury and in terms of work, I have mine on gmail ! I have a "proper" work one which doesn't have to be pushed. I'd really be putting all my private emails on there... 4 to 5 of them or so. I could try my Yahoo ones and see how that works. n82 already reads DOC, XLS, PDF (unsure of powperpoint, never tried it) but doesn't write files unless you buy the "Office" software.... I'd imagine the screen size would be nicer to work with on the iPhone. If I can create and edit files and put in complex formulae - especially Excel spreadsheets - that would be very very useful for me.
  9. You're right, it's fat... I like the slider mechanism but I know I'd break it, so I got the n82 which does everything the n95 can but also has a xenon flash for the 5MP camera, as well as an auto-rotating accelerometer (you need software to enable the n95s one). I gotta say I like the n82 a lot and the iphone or blackberry will be just an extra/spare phone for emailing and internet. I really should try emailing and looking at RWG on the n82 and see if I like it. My brother showed me how to use RSS feeds (very very simple!) as he uses it on his Blackberry, which is slow to get webpages. Works pretty well!
  10. I'm not qute sure about this, but from the Apple website, it sounds like you can have push email if your company has a MS Exchange server... does that mean if you don't set one up yourself, push email won't be available to the general non-business consumer. Just like reps it may be best for me to wait and see after a month how it goes. Viewing RWG pages would probably be best on the iphone though... i love that big screen size but it sucks out the battery quickly
  11. Thanks for that... My brother loves the trackball so he can speed-read books while he's on the train to work... the rate he reads it would be real annoying trying to scroll on a touchscreen, I would imagine - he used to read 24-30 books a week as a kid, each one the size of one volume from Lord of the Rings...
  12. Took Jonathan's advice and found this preview for the new 3G iPhone. 16gb sounds good too. I'm interested in seeing the new 3G Blackberyy too though. The current Pearl has GPS, Wifi, and hot-swappable memory cards... add in 3G and that could do all that I want, while having good battery power. And for those with the N82 or the old-school N95, looks like 16gb micro SDHC cards are out (can't get the link, my other windows are playing up on this PC!)
  13. Any ideas when? Email attracts me to Blackberry, while browsing attracts me to iPhone. My N82 already does pictures with xenon flash (5MP), youtube, Yahoo/MSN Messenger, GPS, movies etc so that is the main consideration with those 2. Maybe I should just get one of the fold out bluetooth keyboards and use the TV Out
  14. I have the option of a free 3G iPhone or a blackberry (pity that's not 3G)... such a tough decision as both have pluses and minuses.
  15. A few other iphone related questions: -can you remove the battery and replace it with a 2nd fully charged one? -can you use hot-swappable memory cards (I love that on the n82, I have 2x8gb microSDHC cards)and what kind of cards? -do standard headphones with a 3.5mm jack work?
  16. o2 in the UK will have the new one from July and I'll be able to get it as a freebie as long as I sign up to a contract... I'm really considering that or the blackberry though. I guess I have to decide, internet browsing or emailing..... or wait and see the reviews? Everyone's input is always welcome as ever. I expect RWG would look best on the iPhone, what with the bigger screen. Speaking of touchphones, how does the LG Viewty compare? That one looked as good (if not better) than the iPhone to me.
  17. How is the typing from the touchscreen? Is it faster than a regular keypad or blackberry? My brother loves his blackberry and says it's great for emails, but as it's no 3G it is slower for internet and he just gets RSS feeds.
  18. GPS is not a problem, I already have the N82 which does everything well. Even internet is good but i dont have the bundled data charges on there so only use it at home on wifi. Perhaps i should try accessing emails and internet on there more, as i already use it for msn when at home... but the keypad obviously isnt as good as a blackberry. i'm really interested to see how internet works on the iphone though, and of course it has a bigger screen.
  19. How good is the new iPhone for browsing sites, eg. RWG? (tenuous link ) Also how well does it handle emails? Can it handle "push" email? Is typing difficult or slow on a touch screen? Is a blackberry a better option for browsing and emailing? I maybe able to get one of these for free on contract. My main criteria is the mail and web browsing handling. Thanks.
  20. I'm interested in the El Primero Daytona, any chance it's a blue moon? I can only wish !
  21. I have the same problem. Cover the downsides of life by buying things that sometimes I don't even bother with.... 1000s of DVDs, over 3000 records (vinyl!) and CDs not even including the mp3s.... 50+ Nike/Adidas shoes, 20 or so Avirex leather jackets, over 100 soccer jerseys, and the most expensive of them all ? watches I'm supposed to move out and get my own place... at this rate, i'll stay broke the rest of my life! I've really gotta get myself sorted out... or find a good woman... but the latter is an impossible task! Where is Dr. Sssurfer?
  22. I hope it wasn't from some other wrist-related activity. Just kidding !
  23. I do! But the flight out there means I'll be even more in debt
  24. What a deal ! I guess patience really IS a virtue
  25. You have a point, probably more plentiful and cheaper in Germany !
