  1. sounds good... and then you can see how it looks with the ceramic bezel or the RG bezel.
  2. Are you sure this has running seconds at 12?
  3. You're right... I'll have to take some soon... but got a wedding to go to today. Not mine!
  4. Great watch I read the review earlier today Pug... tucked away on another page sadly, but I was persistent and found it .. thanks! The iPhone though....after much research I got the Nokia N82 which is just great I admit part of it was for the camera, as I could never carry an SLR with me when I know I'll need to take some off-the-cuff pics. Also the potentially large storage space upto 32gb memory cards and other things
  5. Did you ever get round to doing this ? Great review, I've been away from forums for a while and missed out on this at the time...!
  6. Well I have both versions of the non-chronos and I have never worn the SS (still in it's box with plastic wrapping etc) but wear the titanium AMG version a lot.... constantly the past few weeks... that is the one that will always go on if I can't decide. I love the red accents on the dial Of course, some may remember I prefer titanium anyway, and not just for dermatological reasons.
  7. Come on, Pugwash must have this too!
  8. Sadly I have to concur, it appears that this one was just not meant to be
  9. Agreed. That's why a holiday is great, away from all the furore... or golf
  10. 2 prominent people appear to be dumping Cousteau stock... Is there a new improved Cousteau coming out? Or the bracelet for the Aquatimer coming out? We can but hope!
  11. And congrats to kruzer for becoming a moderator "With great power, comes great responsibility" but you already know this... things have changed.. for the better
  12. thanks for the kind words everyone. the sickness is not really serious, just an annoyance, as I don't get paid when I don't work either. Hopefully I'll get a doctor's appointment tomorrow. The bank have finally sorted out my account so I can start billing and getting my money finally in Here's to a great new year and fun and games
  13. Rakim's words fit right there Anyway been a while since I have been on the forums. Some of you may remember me. No doubt there will be many new members who won't, and old ones who didn't care to Work has been hectic for months now (even though I haven't been paid since end of July!) and I'm doing 2 jobs.... and I've been sick since the weekend before xmas. Work told me not to go in today and get better and I ended up here after seeing the login email change thingy. Anyway, wishing everybody a Happy New Year and good luck! And a Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee... for the new year
  14. Ditto, I've borrowed a friend's (unmodified) Cousteau and it is very nice indeed. I'll also be waiting on reviews and the bracelet version. I've been killing myself at work these last few weeks, get a rare look here and it still isn't out... just crazy!
  15. I've heard of Aluminium, but what the hell is Aluminum ??? If anyone sends anything for a test, it's best to take the dremelled out fragments (as kruzer00 mentions above) or send a link from the bracelet - assuming the bracelet is made of the same material. Good luck!
  16. i just cannot believe in something so blindly like so many people. I haven't found the answers that would point me in the direction of such a life-consuming decision as active participation in religion. And I'm too lazy Still, interesting stories and roots of where many things that are held as "gospel" came from.
  17. The fish symbol, Ichthys (Greek acronym), was used by christians near the beginning to identify themselves to other christians when their then-heathen religion was frowned upon by the powers of the day. It probably stems from Jesus's disciples being fishermen as well as other reasons. Batman must be religious - "Holy mackerel!" Incidentally, the fish symbol dated back to ancient religions as well. The symbol that is popular now, the cross, stemmed from the Egyptian ankh. This was not a christian symbol for around 2-3 centuries I think. There are strong possibilites that a Jesus was not hung on a cross. The ancient Greek word for cross back when the bible was written actually meant stake. Either way, they believe he was killed. The cross obviously makes a far better symbol than a stake. Damn(!), I know too much about religions, and believe in none!
  18. After all this time, it can only have minimal flaws ...
  19. AP Royal Oak bezels are circular on the inside and an octagon on the outside (8 sides I think). It's an old design which seems to have inspired many. Now this watch... didn't think I'd be bothered having not seen it, but looking at your pictures, my interest is definitely piqued!
  20. TTK was talking about winding the crown, as it winds in one direction only. I think your problem is different, in that it only winds when rotated in one direction, indicating that you don't have an ETA movement inside which would be bi-directional. Hope that helps clear that up, but we still don't know what's under the hood! I think you have to remove the screws at the "ears" and then lift the case up to get access to the innards. No idea what to do next, sorry. I'm too scared to break it than try it! Good luck.
  21. I've been waiting on this one too, and then decide which one is best of the 'Timers..... taking too long but i cant afford to be impatient i guess.
