  1. I've only just seen this.... dependent upon price of PP Nautilus Jumbo, I'd be in. Gotta shower and sleep now
  2. Same here, as I don't smoke it waa a very indulgent purchase. I asked the seller (on eBay) which of the flints I needed for the Ligne 2 lighter I got, and they sent me the flints. And the flint fits properly.
  3. Yep, I'm in North London, not far from the Arsenal and Spurs grounds ... I walked home from Spurs v Liverpool in the League Cup a couple of years back!
  4. Yes there are three versions: 1- modified ETA 2836-2 to act like an ETA 2893-2 with independently adjustable GMT hand; 2- modified ETA 2836-2 to act like a true GMT movement with an independently adjustable HOUR hand, just like the genuine; 3- ETA 2893-2 which are much rarer versions.
  5. Havent seen any of today's games yet, but sad to see Celtic go out... but 1-0 in injury time makes it sound like a tight tie overall. Even sadder to see the despicable man ure team go through - I hope they draw Chelsea next and get knocked out, as well as their whole team injured, leading to Chelsea winning the league Real Madrid going out was predictable - wouldn't mind Liverpool drawing Bayern Munchen in the next round (And on another pedantic side note - why are they called Bayern Munich ? Why not the full English name of Bavarian Munich, or the Deutsch of Bayern Munchen?). Teams left for the quarter finals: Liverpool Chelsea Valencia Roma PSV Eindhoven Bayern Munchen AC Milan man ure Ideal draw would be Liverpool getting Bayern Munchen or PSV Eindhoven (but I don't think PSV Eindhoven can play Liverpool again until the final, having been in the same group in an earlier stage). man ure to draw Chelsea or Valencia - but money will go on them fixing it and drawing the weakest team left, PSV Eindhoven, just as they had the weakest team in the round just played: Lille. My two favourites for the trophy this year are Valencia, and possibly Roma, although I would love for Liverpool to win it again, and get a trip out to Athens
  6. ask Panerailord... I hear he has a PI watching finepic's every mood (just a joke, PaneraiLord! )
  7. I'd say probably V and thomasng. tonton2000 and docblackrock too - those 2 are Liverpool fans as well fitmic - I met him twice in Stockholm, great guy And not forgetting finepics though I tend to leave him alone cos he's always so busy. There are other great people too that I don't hear from as much as I'd like, but time can be a constraint .... kruzer00, sssurfer to name a couple. Sorry if I havent mentioned everyone, I've not been on the boards much lately, with starting a new job after losing the old one.
  8. The reason I bought genuine flints was reading through posts saying rep flints weren't very good. So first order of business was replace the flints (read my post above for info on genuine flints), get the gas adapter (gasadapter.de I think, he also sells on ebay) and then the butane gas (Newport Extra Purified Butane Lighter Gas) and away you go.
  9. Thanks for that info! And I would think other similarly designed lighters would also need the cylinder to be twirled I have no idea why I decided to give the cylinder a spin... I guess as it's right under the part that strikes the flint, I thought it must have some functionality! As for flints - unless I buoght the wrong size (off internet - could well be the case!) - the only problem I had was swapping the reserve flints. The genuine one is "fatter" and therefore would not fit in the reserve space, but the "active" flint fit in the channel with no problems, and works a charm.
  10. So, it sounds like when you open it, you have to turn the "bullet" part to light it ? Is this the same on the genuine ?
  11. Ok, this is probably a very naive and stupid question. I've finally got the money to get the gas adapter and butane gas and I've filled up the lighter. I also replaced the flint with a genuine one - but the space for the reserve flint was too small for the ones I have! I was under the impression that when you flick the cap open, there is a flame, but this does not happen. I have to turn the gas reservoir thing. Kind of like the "bullet" on the 007 lighters, and then it will light. Is this correct or am I doing something wrong? Any advice and info is welcome... I'm a non-smoker so don't really know how these things are supposed to work!
  12. I think the convention I posted earlier in the thread is workable, and a few descriptions may need a little tweaking, but otherwise fine.
  13. Titanium is lighter and stronger than stainless steel, but may scratch more easily.
  14. I thought you were American
  15. Then it looks like silix are the ones to go if you have to use MB .... anyone using NoChex... no problem
  16. If it can take a deployant buckle, then it can also take a regular tang buckle.
  17. I'm in the UK, so it has to be over here, or I'd check that one out for sure.
  18. Perhaps all dealers should abandon the "almighty" dollar and switch to the British Pound
  19. Perhaps there could be a moratorium on selling to newbies for a period of time but I doubt it could ever happen. Most dealers will take the money and the risk I think. Those few that are doing this as a hobby perhaps should stick to buyers with a good track record - or at least give them priority on limited items?
  20. Apart from the high-fees, when paying via their website, they can call you back. I had 2 sepaate calls for 2 separate transactions last year, and one was rejected (my only ever attempt at a small purchase from Paul). I had to go to a WU desk and get it sent using straight cash, which was very annoying as all the desks were closed when I finished work (at the time I was working from 9am til 9-11pm everyday). The other problem I found was sending over 500-600GBP in one go would incur even more checks, such as taking your passport, so it had to be split into 2 payments, with more charges Things are not good! To make WU seem more cost effective you need a larger order, in which case I think next time I will go for a used genuine rather than spend the $1800 or so on lots of reps as I did in one go early last year.
  21. F'n warmongers. You're right though. And I agree it would be better without the "replica" in the name... just Watch Group would be better, or MWG - modder's watch group .. anything else.
  22. Would this method also work on genuine items ? Eg. buying a genuine 2nd hand Omega from the US for $2,000 and getting it sent to Mr Papadapoulos c/o your home address, fully insured in case it gets lost in the mail? If so, which shipping companies should I use ?
  23. Think I'll stick with nochex - moneybookers added way too many charges on me last time around that I sent money (last year sometime)
