  1. Omega is usually an AR coat on the inside of the crystal. Breitling usually does double sided ie. inside and outside.
  2. The pictures on the link you gave don't show the movement... seems to be a bit of confusion with these "2892" movements... do some research and ask the dealer if it is 100% genuine Swiss ETA 2892 movement etc. Read up on posts about it as well. Good luck!
  3. Great watch This must have been one of the first super-accurate first generations that we seem to be getting... ok maybe it was really the Breitling Avenger Seawolf and Breitling Chrono Avenger (and nod of the hat towards the "closed-factory" Omega SMP Bond) Hmmmm titanium, perhaps the same factory? We want more titanium
  4. This one's been bugging me since I saw it and now I know why. Wasn't this particular one a dealer commissioned and exclusive piece? Did the factory lie to the dealers in question about the movement and supply a cheaper movement than requested?
  5. I went to Copenhagen last year for New Year's Eve, 2nd time I'd been in Denmark. Liked it I would love to go back, if even for a weekend. I'm not a Brøndby fan, but Liverpool transferred their defender Daniel Agger last January. Looks a pretty good player who seems to be replacing the great (but ageing) Finn and former Liverpool captain Sami Hyppia.
  6. Can the Norwegian users help me track down that beautiful big-breasted blonde I used to know years ago ?
  7. I've just seen this, congratulations!
  8. I should make it, though I reserve the right not to, if I'm broke! Obviously people will bring watches and straps, anyone want to decide what to bring? No point everyone bringing a PAM111H unless you want to say "mine is closer to gen than yours na na na na na!" (and finepics will win anyway!). If anyone has the Hublot Big Bang, Breitling Chronomat Evolution (Angus' version) and the PAM127 (been so long since I seen that in person!), Roger Dubuis Easy Diver, those would be the ones I'd want to see.... tonton has a lot of offbeat watches, so I'll have to figure out which of mine to bring.
  9. Wasn't the GMT movements in-house as well? ETA don't produce GMT movements with independently adjustable hour hands, just GMT hands (ETA 2893). This one is lovely... a move to have different movements from ETA so watches (especially display backed ones) become harder to rep? A radical anti-counterfeit measure, or are Swatch Group thinking of selling Omega off ? Or am I just too tired from no sleep in over 24 hours? The mind boggles.
  10. Are you making fun of Scandinavians and their drinking?
  11. Just to clarify, those are stock (factory) pictures and not of the finished watches. The group buy did specify genuine Swiss ETA 2892 movement. Sadly, f'n WinXP Home won't recognize external devices (camera phone, USB stick etc) however many drivers I select, and since the other computer is dead at the moment I can't post pictures. I don't think it had blue screws on the movement though, and the phone screen is too small to make it out. It doesn't look like blue screws though. Hopefully someone else can help out to clear that one up?
  12. Problem is gold plating, perhaps they don't sell as well on these boards, as everyone knows that it won't last, and is really a throwaway watch once base metal can be seen. Probably costs more to make than the standard stainless steel (or titanium too), as the SS (or whatever material) gets plated afterwards. Looks good though!
  13. Forgot about the movements, the old Asian 7750 has the advantage that you can swap out the movement with an ETA 7750 and the hands will fit. The new Asian 7750, the hands will not fit and parts have to either be swapped around or the hand posts modified. I don't think this watch was ever made with the newer Asian 7750 copy - and probably not in titanium... ask the dealer for advice on that one. If this is a watch you really really like, and plan on keeping a long time, and can overlook the minor inaccuracies, then go for the ETA - servicing will be fine with any watchmaker prepared to work on it
  14. Considering the new Evolution with ETA 7750 is around the $700 mark, that's not a bad price, is it ? I have a genuine black dial that I probably won't use but no inner bezel ring...! I also have a white dial. Luckily, the rep bezel ring can be used Personally, I went for the white dial, I have lots of dark dial watches and chronos already! And... ask silix if they have the black dial for that, I'm sure they can take a look for you.
  15. A few things... - If you like it, and don't care about inaccuracies or people knowing it is a "replica" (in the loosest sense of the word).. then wear it, just don't pay your friend too much for it, this is a cheapie. - If you want an accurate Breitling, read the Breitling guide at the top of the Breitling section. - If you want to get people off your back a little, take another picture with a piece of paper saying "Hi RWG and the gang" with today's date, or a newspaper or something with today's date, and that should allay some people. Good luck!
  16. I can recommend silix for the ETA2892 version. That's where mine came from. As for inaccuracies, only a few known ones - crown is not quite perfect, and date window is slightly too thin. Nothing anyone will really notice ! And can't remember if lume is good enough. The white dial will have problems of usual blue rep hands.
  17. TMI LOL ROTFLMAO WYSIWYG Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee... Wish I could be there, have fun guys and gals
  18. She'll notice the subdial spacing Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...
  19. The problem is the same as the Daytona and the IWC Portuguese Chrono, which has transfer gears moving the running seconds to 6. As this is constantly running, it puts strain on the movement. I suspect this will go the same way as many of the afore-mentioned models.
  20. If in doubt, get the titanium IWC GST Chrono out
  21. Anyone remember the solid gold Franck Muller Casablanca? Look at post #131 of the thread on the FM Casablanca - it is stated that: The signs were there for those that don't know, about these fake 2892 movements, but not everyone has the time to read every thread!
  22. I've been informed that there are none of these available in the market anymore, and won't be made again
