I know the dials are different size. Are 1675 and 1680 hour and minute hands the same length?

This was a thread that started by talking about a re-dial but ends with experimenting with aging.

My wife (5.75" wrist) loves her Tag Link, one with a MP face and bling not the numbered bezel. I handled the Gen about 5 times before I ordered it and although the "diamonds" don't have the color of the Gen, they're small enough to not be much of a tell. My wife "knowns" diamonds and is still happy. She's getting a Chanel J12 in a couple days, I can only hope she will be as happy with it as the Tag.

I feel privileged to have seen it in person, yes it looks every bit as good in person.

I wear all gold gens, vintage gens, reps and inaccurate homage ( one of my current favorites ) with no consideration other then what I feel like wearing. The watch is for my personal satisfaction, not for anyone else. I've always liked watches. I had a 2k Rolex when I drove a 1K VW, and wear a 70 Tudor rep today when I'm in the mood. 99% of the people don't know and don't care what you wear IMHO.

I'm more of a vintage guy too but like reading about newer models as well, would probably end up reading both anyway.

Any Rolex dealer has them, get friendly with one. I can get them from a dealer where I travel frequently. Will be in that town next around the 11th of Oct. Think I paid 15 for a pair last time. If all else fails PM.

My 5513 has the problem, have had the keyless reset once, been wearing it ever since. GL

Ubi, yes it is 2836 powered and after your detailed and concise reply will stay a 2836. You have saved me endless hours of frustration and money. Your and others expertise and willingness to share information continues to amaze me.

I have a MBW 5513 and some of the gen parts ( insert, crown, crystal ) for an interesting project. I can buy a good running 1520. Will the 1520 fit in the MBW case? Make more sense to by a Yuki case? I'm usually against this kind of project because it ends up costing almost as much as buying a gen but I'm still intrigued.

Martyd3, did the bracelet take 2mm spring bars without mods? You did a very nice job on the lug holes.

I would like to buy a ladies Chanel J12, but my wife's wrist is real small (6 inches at best ) looking at pictures it looks like only 2 links are removable. Anyone resize one to minimum? Are more links removable then the ones with pins? What's the smallest it can be made to fit? Thanks

Did you replace the crown tube or did the MBW tube take a gen crown?

Thanks all for your invaluable input. Ubi cleared up why his dial is different in color as well as why it doesn't have big puffy globs for markers. Think I'll start by playing with the dial, iodine and baking but will probably end up with a gen dial and a tropic 19 crystal etc.

think you misunderstood, I meant I didn't see much different between the iodine treated ones and the rest of the dial. overall I clearly see the difference.

highoeyazmuhudee, I see very little difference between the markers, if I turn up the brightness on my monitor the iodine markers are slightly pinker. Wonder if your matte treatment is what faded. I guess the noob lume is different then the Yuki, it didn't destruct. How long did you bake the dial? Gorilladame, frozen yogurt? any particular flavor? Do you know for a fact that the heat dulls the printing or are you using yogurt just a precaution?

I put a MBW hollow mid link with 501B endlinks on a Noob LV. Fits perfectly.

Ronin, your watch is a knock out. The color looks accurate, nothing like this yellow on NDT's site. So is your dial a different color or it just doesn't look right on the site? highoeyazmuhudee, care to share your recipe for baking?
